Now that we've talked about the wireless application protocol, we know how it helps our mobile devices get wireless content and maintain wireless connectivity to Internet sites, we've also looked at the wireless markup language and basically how it provides content to devices that can't use normal HTML. Now, what does all this mean? It means that now we're having more and more of a wireless enabled web out there. There are so many more content providers out there for wireless devices and many of our popular websites are providing wireless content for their mobile users. They've seen the avenues of business for this and the opportunity for communication with users and the content that they have. Uh, some examples of popular content that basically has been developed and streamed to wireless devices are news, email and websites. For example, a lot of the popular sites on the web; Yahoo, CNN, MSN and many, many others provide alternative sites and alternative content that has been specifically optimized for mobile phones and PDAs. An example is that news feeds can be sent directly to wireless devices. SMS messages through alerts, for example. Now, a lot of vendors such as T-Mobile, Verizon, Cingular and so forth can provide specific content for their proprietary devices and they often have specific services that kind of are used as a go-between to connect to the world-wide web and get these information types through their specific service. News, entertainment, music, video and so forth are all optimized for their devices and use their service. Sometimes it's proprietary, but for the most part it gets you what you need from the web. These are just a couple of examples of how our entire Internet and our entire world-wide web has been optimized or rather has been enabled to be used with wireless devices.
