Now it's time to wrap up this course from the Virtual Training Company on Introduction to Wireless Network Administration. Here are some of the things we've kind of talked about. We looked at an overview of wireless network. We kind of saw how it's different from wired networking and how the two kind of mesh together. We also looked at wireless standards and topologies. We looked at the 802.11 standards and some different topologies such as ad hoc and infrastructure. Then we took a look at wireless technology science fundamentals. We looked at RF measurements and decibels. We also, uh, examined wireless hardware, uh, the different kinds of hardware you can have for access points, clients and so forth. Then we looked at configuring some of those wireless access points. We looked at configuring a Linksys access point, a D-Link and a Trendnet and some of the different options that we could have when we configure those access points. Then we delved into configuring wireless clients. We saw a wide range of clients, uh, pretty much most of the clients you're going to see out in the field. We looked at a Windows XP client, a Windows Vista client, a MacIntosh OS 10 client and a Linux client. We also looked at wireless applications and the wireless application protocol WML and talked about how those technologies bring the Internet to mobile devices. Then we looked at wireless security protocols and features; some of the different things such as WEP and WPA and WPA2 that we can use to secure our wireless networks. We also took a look at wireless peripherals such as printers, media centers and so forth. Then we looked into a little bit different wireless technologies, like Bluetooth and how we can use it to maintain connections between mobile devices. We also took a look at some other wireless technologies we're likely to see out there, such as PDA and cell phone technologies, infrared and RFID. We then took a look at wireless security testing and we talked about you testing your wireless network before someone else that has malicious intent does that for you. Then we looked at administering a wireless network. We looked at different, uh, levels of network administration such as home network, small and medium networks and finally enterprise wireless networks and some of the interesting trials and tribulations that go along with administering those wireless networks and some things that can help you administer them better. And finally, at the end, we looked at the best wireless administration practices. These are just some of the best practices that have been gleaned from industry, government, commercial entities, personal experience and so forth. And we looked at best wireless administration practices for security. We looked at best administration practices for design a network and so forth. I hope you've enjoyed this topic and I've enjoyed presenting it to you.
