We will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on May 20th, 2013 at 02:00 GMT.
As part of the Work Files for this particular training series, I've created a bunch of materials for you to use in Maxwell as well as in SketchUp, but I want to show you where to install those so that you can follow along with these lessons. Now, the first thing I'll point out to you is I do have a shortcut here to my SketchUp Install Folder and my Maxwell Install Folder and I recommend that you do the same because we're going to be in and out of these folders a lot as Power Users. So to begin with lets go ahead and go into our Maxwell Install Folder, and I'm going to go to Materials Database and MXM Files, and what you'll see here are basically more or less the same contents as what you're going to find in the Maxwell Materials Zip folder, and you're going to notice that there's already an Arrowayunderscorev2 in your Maxwell Install, that's OK just Add this Arroway Full Rez folder to this and we'll come back to that one in a few minutes. In addition to that we have a few items here that are items that I have available that I created on the Maxwell Materials Warehouse, and this basically just allows you to save the downloading from the Maxwell Material Gallery. And we also have some things like the RAL Libraries which I had previously created to include in my Maxwell training and what I did was I updated all of these for Maxwell 2.5 and I reformulated some of them to improve them even over what they were before so I recommend that even if you got these materials before, that you delete those and replace them with these because these are much better. Now in addition to that you'll see that we have some presets, we have some Emitter Presets and these would be the same presets that you would have available to you when you're working in the Maxwell Material Editor, I just find it easier to browse through this in a visual way which is reason why I created that. The same with these SSS Presets, these are just the SSS Presets that you're going to find in the SSS Wizard in the Maxwell Material Editor, I just find it easier to visually browse exactly what I'm looking for and this just makes life a little bit easier for me, hopefully it helps you a little bit as well. Now, I'm going to go ahead and hold down Shift and click on this X here to Close all those Windows, and I'm going to go into my SketchUp Install folder. And here the very first folder we're going to see is named Components, and if we go in there and we Download in the Work Files the SketchUp Components Zip file you're going to find in there a couple folders, Erco IES Indoor, Erco IES Outside and there maybe even more by the time I finish this training, I'll try to get as much in there is I can for you. But what these are is these are components that are ready to go, ready for use right out of the box, that have associated Maxwell files and they're going to make Lighting your Scenes much, much easier. Now in addition to that, if you going to Work Files and you get the SketchUp Materials zip, I want you to put those right here in this Materials folder and you'll see them, they're the Maxwell RAL Line, here you can see Anodized Aluminum, Car Paint, Diffuse, Glass, Glossy Metallic Plastic, Painted Wall, Satin, Shiny Plastic, SSS Plastic, Tiles and Velvet and if I do include anymore they'll always be started with the word Maxwell before whatever description I decide to apply them. But whatever's in that folder just drop it in here and again those will make Assigning Materials in your SketchUp Models much, much easier. Now in addition to that you'll find a folder or is it file, named Work Files and you can just go ahead and Extract that Folder onto your Desktop. This is going to be the place where you're going to find all the work files that we're going to use throughout the series, and I personally like keep them in a place that's handy, if you don't clutter up your desktop you can keep them in My Documents or wherever works for you. Now I did say that I want to go back and talk a little bit more about those Arroway Materials and we're going to go ahead and do that in the next video.
