So now we're going to go ahead and continue our discussion about the Google 3D Warehouse and we're going to see how it actually impacts our work inside SketchUp. Now, the very first thing we're going to do is we're going to go to Window and open the Components Browser and when we get to Components Browser, you'll see that we have a Search Bar right here and we can simply type in anything we want into the search bar. I'm going to go ahead and use the last search we did, which was Bridge and hit Enter. And now what it's going to do is it's going to go ahead and return a search on the 3D Warehouse and you can see here Pascal Vatig, our friend from the last search is right there. Now, if you're not seeing the same thing, go ahead and change the display from small thumbnails to details. That way you can see text and get people's names and so on and so forth. Now, the other thing here is if you go all the way down, you'll notice that it ends and we see the results are one through twelve of about 4,777. So we can continue by clicking these arrows to go forward or backward, just like a Web browser. Now I'm going to go ahead and narrow this down a little bit and I'm going to go ahead and type in Japanese Bridge and I'm going to hit Enter. And this is better. This is one of 12 of about 36 and I like this one here but I think I'm going to go ahead and go on to the next page and see what we come up with. Hmm, what do we have here that looks interesting to me? Well, let's go ahead and go to the next one. And so you can see here that we have quite a lot of choices to choose from and I think, eh, I'm going to go ahead and get this one, Pedestrian Bridge. This is interesting. Now, if I want to know more I can click on the link but I can also just as easily click on the actual icon here and when I do that, it'll actually download that particular model as a component in whatever model I happen to be working in. Now, it's going to be placed just like any other component is placed and as you can see here, there's my model, straight from the 3D Warehouse, ready for me to work with. Now, let's say that I'm working on a model, something else completely, let's just go ahead and get rid of this guy and instead of downloading a model from the 3D Warehouse, I want to go ahead and upload a model to the 3D Warehouse and for the sake of argument here I'll just go ahead and create something very simple. So I've got my magnificent 3D model that I want to upload to the 3D Warehouse so other people can download in exactly this same way. Well, if you see this little G right here, if I click on that G, what it's doing is right now it's telling me my user name is JasonMaranto at hotmail.com and my nickname is Jason Maranto and I have the option of signing out or canceling. I'm going to Cancel. What that tells me is I'm actually logged in right now and if you click on that G and you're not logged in, it'll give you the option to go ahead and sign up for the 3D Warehouse. If you're logged in, now you can go to 3D Warehouse under the File Menu and say Share Model and you can say, here it's going to say well, you have different things going on. You want to purge it? You say Yes to clear out all the garbage in case you forgot to do that and now you simply say the title of the model, the model description, any kind of tags that you want to assign to it so people will be able to find it and then there's a couple additional things, if you want to put a logo or if you want to not allow other people to see this model and then when you're all done you hit Upload and it goes right up onto the 3D Warehouse. So it's just that easy to go ahead and get stuff like this so that you can go ahead and have other people download your models and use them in their own models. Now, if you've come up with a search that you really like and you actually want to keep it physically on your computer, you can go over here and you can say Save as Local Collection. It'll take these 12 models that are currently on your browser and it will save them out and you also have the option of Adding to Favorites. And again, what that'll do is that will add that search to your favorite's list right here. So that is basically the 3D Warehouse functionality within SketchUp and this is one of the reasons why very few people actually feel the need to go to SketchUp anymore. Now, one of the few reasons why you might want to go to SketchUp is let's say you like this guy's model. Well, again, if you click on that name, it'll actually open up a browser and boom; now you can see all the models that Dan has created here and you can choose to see if any of these are particularly what you're looking for if you're just interested in Dan's work. So that is the 3D Warehouse in toto as far as SketchUp and the web is concerned and feel free. It's literally thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of great models up there, all for free, all for fun and that said, if you're going to use something from the 3D Warehouse, then please share what you created as well. That way you enrich the community that you're partaking of.
