And in this final lesson on the character's facial details, let me show you how we go about creating a scar on the side of the character's head. First I'm going to add in just a little bit more detail within the eyebrow area. I'm just going to build out that structure just a little bit more before adding the scar. Now, in creating the scar, I don't know if I'm going to be happy with the initial look of it. I may choose later on that I wish not to have a scar on the character or perhaps the art director may come back and ask for it to be removed. Once it's already in the geometry, it actually makes it difficult for you to take it back out. So what I would suggest is actually using a layer. Now, when adding the scar in the character's temple, I'm going to basically add a slice going straight down through the side of the temple. I'll select on my Slash Two Brush and give it a very quick test and that's not going to give me the look that I'm looking for. It has too much curvature on one side. So I'll switch over to just the standard Slash Brush and once again do a quick test and that's a lot better. It's a lot more what I'm looking for. But if I add the /to this geometry and later on decide that I don't like it, it'll actually make it difficult for me to remove it. So what I'm going to do is actually put the /on a layer. So I'll select Layers and I'll choose New and now anything I begin painting will actually show up on the layer. So I'll go ahead and carve in my scar. I'll also create some additional carvings and then fill them in just to get it a lot more of an abnormal shape. So I'm happy with that. Now I'm able to turn off and turn on the layer. I'll switch over to my Standard Brush and begin just filling out some of the geometry around the edges of the scar, just to bulk up the skin area. And now within my Layer Control I can actually increase and decrease the intensity of the scar. And so the final step now is for me to go ahead and save this out as my final mesh, which would be Head Sculpt 05. I'll make sure that that is in my ZTools Folder and now we're ready to move on to the next lessons involving painting and texturing of the character's head.
