Subtitles of the Movie

Now we're ready to go back into Maya and apply both of our maps once again to the Mesh and take a look at our process through a Render. When you're changing maps in Maya you can actually simply select on the object, do a Control A to open up the Attribute Editor, and usually the last node will be your Texture. Click on the Color, go to the folder and find the new colorTest. Again, back up, go to Bump Map, and once again find the new Bumptest. Now, I'll go ahead and do another test and we can see how our detail is becoming much more richer. We now have scratches and dents throughout the rifle. Again we can determine if that's too much information and we can back out of it. The reason I use the Bump Map is it's much easier to register and set up initially for rendering. Normal maps will tend to cut back, so because this Bump Map does look like it's a bit too much information there's no need to actually cut back on the Mask until I create the Normal Map. I'm going to show you now how to create the Normal Map and apply that in place of the Bump Map so that we could begin creating all the remaining maps that are necessary for our rifle.
