Now moving back onto the arm of the stock handle, we're going to go ahead and use a cylinder using the Box Model Extrude Method. I'll go a head and create a cylinder. I'll move it into the appropriate direction. I'm going to rotate it currently and work from this template. I simply want to make two changes. Under the Inputs, ensure that the Division Caps is set to zero. That removes the triangles that are in the center. I also want to make sure my Axis is set to 20. I'll go ahead and ensure that the Rotate X is set to 90 degrees and now I can begin my modeling. I'll go ahead and move the cylinder into the center position of the template and so that I'm sure that I'm lined up with my other parts of the blueprint, I'll go ahead and begin splitting vertices. I'll split my vertices through the horizontal edges connecting all of the edges of the cylinder from the top down. This will make it easy for me to then line up according to the template. So again, I'll create all of the horizontal patterns and now I can go ahead and begin splitting down the center line. Because I have my Split Tool set at 33 in the threshold, it automatically snaps to the center. I'm finished with the tool so I'll press Enter and now I can begin analyzing to see exactly where my mesh needs to be according to the template. I can tell that this is my first line so I'll go ahead and put that line in place and I'll only worry about the lines right now that are horizontal. I'll deselect, moving down to the next and continue the process. Now I can go ahead and select over all of my edges and begin to scale in appropriately, again deselecting and scaling inward. I'm focusing on the outer edge of the template. OK, good. Now I'll just fix my top and so you can see I've lined up and matched my template exactly. Once again, I'll delete my history, I'll do a File, Save Scene before continuing.
