The title of this movie refers to mixing and matching FileMaker Pro and Pro Advanced versions and potentially different FileMaker Server versions. The FileMaker 12 product line introduces a New file format with the .fmp12 extension. That means that FileMaker Server 12 can only host files in that format. It cannot host files with the .fp7 extension that was shared between FileMaker Server 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. You will have to convert those files, the old files using FileMaker Pro or Pro Advanced version 12. FileMaker Server 12 cannot do that conversion for you. So there is no worry for now about mixed environments like you could encounter with the previous versions of FileMaker Server and FileMaker Pro. With the older versions it is entirely possible to say have FileMaker Server 11 host files that accessed by FileMaker Pro 10 or even 9. And since some functionality is executed at the server and not at the clients, that may cause some issues. You will have none of these issues when deploying FileMaker Server 12. Only FileMaker Pro 12, Pro Advanced 12 or FileMaker Go 12 Clients will be able to access the files. So for now mixed environments is not something that we need to worry about.
