Interface Design / Sub-Areas pt. 1

Subtitles of the Movie

So here's approximately what all your work with the fields should look like. We have the section for billing and then a section for shipping. And then you have your date of birth, your age and your category. And we'll take a look at that in layout mode. We can see that there's a company and the company is shipping and all that stuff. We added age as a merge field just like before. Now, the spacing here does differentiate these two areas. It allows them to be separate, but I would like to add even more differentiation. I'd like to put in an engraved graphic here to make a subarea here and one here and then put in some title here. Make it stand out even more that this is billing and this is shipping and these are two separate things because otherwise, they look like the same fields over here. So we're going to go and grab these out of the FileMaker reference and if you remember correctly, this engraving, which we're going to take a look at in a second, wasn't included on the Photoshop.jpg. Here's a little secret. If you go into the work files and there's a start and an end. If you go to the end, that'll be the finished contacts for that entire chapter and if you go and open that, you'll see the engraved piece there. You can copy and paste them from that finished product, come back to what you're working on and paste them in there. So I'm going to go into my reference and we'll scroll down Ôtil we find those engraving pieces. I think actually may be up here. And we'll scroll and scroll Ôtil we find them here. And there they are right down at the bottom. So what we're going to do is drag each one of those pieces. Here's a left. Woops. There we go. Left engrave. And then there's the bottom and there's the right and I'll move it over a little bit more. Top. And then we have each of the corners. So we'll put those in there as well. There you go. And we're all done with that. Now we can kind of position them where you want them to start off. I'm going to put this one over here approximately, right about there. It doesn't have to be perfect to start off with.
