So let's go down and look at some other options. How about Show? And if the View menu is often ignored, the options in Show - people never know they are there, but they are great little features. This allows you to show information in different ways. So you could show your buttons. You still can see your buttons on the layout when you draw them but this makes them highlight so you can see them better. Now we don't have any buttons right now so we can't use that one but let's try Text Boundaries. And look at what your text looks like right now. We'll turn on Text Boundaries and now you can see that there are little gray lines around everything. That tells you where your anchor points are going to be. So if we ungroup this and selected just this block right here we could see that, that was the extent of that block. And we also have Show field boundary, which is defaulted to On. We also have Sliding Objects. Sliding Objects is really for printing and it will show you where every Sliding Object is and it put little arrows on them. So if you're not sure if something set to Slide, turn that on and you can see every field or every object that's set to slide. And also in Sliding Objects you have Nonprinting Objects. So you could also specify to see those. It'll put little icons on there as well. And then we have Tool Tips. We happen to have one Tool Tip so let's see what it looks like. You see it puts this little icon here. It's really kind of hard to see but it's a little post it icon there. So I really prefer the defaults. I turn these on from time to time to see what's going on like for instance, you were wondering ok I wonder which objects I put Tool Tips on. Well rather than going into each one and looking at the Tool Tips option and seeing did I set it, just turn on that view and you can see oh I didn't put it on this field or something like that. So we'll go into View though and turn these off because sometimes those little icons get in the way. So we'll turn off Tool Tips and we'll turn off Text Boundaries and then just for giggles we'll go ahead and turn off Field Boundaries. And you can see what happens to the fields. Now I happen to like it this way. Maybe I just got used to it that way but I like to have Field Boundaries on, so I'm going to leave them on. And then we also have our Toolbars. We've gone over these but you can just turn them on and off from here. We have our status area. Ok, if we select that it goes away but you can also toggle it this way. And we have our Zoom in and Zoom out. Of course you could do those over here as well. Now one other interesting thing about Zoom in and Zoom out is that it will zoom into the last place it clicked, but if you just came into Layout mode and haven't clicked it'll go to the upper left hand corner. So often when I'm zooming I go I want to zoom in right on that spot right there. So I click there and then I zoom in. You can see it goes right to the center of the screen. So again that's the same thing with the pasting. It'll paste where you last clicked. So those little things can really help you out when you're working with FileMaker. So don't forget about the View menu like everybody else. It's there. There are some really nifty things there. And we'll go over these four options extensively when we start talking about printing.
