Now let's click Ok. Now you actually have the ability to copy and paste lots of schema. So, let's go into Script Maker, and we'll show you how to copy and paste schema here as well. So you can select a script, and you can go ahead and Edit, Copy and then Edit, Paste. And you've made a second copy of the script. We'll delete that. You can also import scripts. We can click on this button down here, which will look different under earlier versions of FileMaker. And we can go choose a file. I'll choose Contacts Copies since it has some scripts in it; Zips doesn't. Click Open. It'll list all the scripts so we can just choose any one we want. Click Ok. And it'll import those scripts in there. We can delete those as well. In fact, you can even go inside of a script, select a Script step or multiple script steps, copy them, and choose where you want to paste them. So it's really simply how to do this. You can move around your schema, either a script, you can copy and paste it. Or a script step, you can copy and paste them, or you can actually import a whole bunch of scripts from another file. Now realize that when you do import from another file, then it may be necessary for you to go ahead and change some of the references. You may not have all the same layouts and same fields and same tables. So there may be some errors that you have to correct, but you could get 90 to 95% of the script if you want. Let's go back to Define Database. And we're going to look at fields. You essentially have the same abilities in the field section. You can copy and paste a field. We'll delete that. And you can even go to another table and paste, and it goes right in there. In fact, you can go to another file, copy the field or multiple fields, and paste it. So you have all kinds of capabilities of sharing the schema, fields, tables, scripts; all these important things you can copy and paste all over the place. Now we really don't need our Zips 2 through Zips 6, so I'm going to delete those. And I'm going to make sure I check this box so I don't have to go over to Relationships and remove the Table occurrences also. And I'll just double check. You'll see we're back to the way we were before, and you'll also notice because we exited Define Database before deleting those tables, that FileMaker made all these layouts for us. In fact, we have quite a few. So they're not really useful because they have no tables associated, so let's go into Layout mode and get rid of them as well. So we'll go to the end and we'll delete that layout and keep going through it until we see one of the layouts we actually created. So there's quite a few of them here, down to Zips 3. And one more to go here. Now we're back to where we were before. We have none of those layouts that have tables missing. So we'll move back to Contacts. Go back to Browse mode, and if you don't have FileMaker 8 Advanced or later, I really highly recommend getting it because it's going to save you a lot of time, especially if you're creating lots of solutions because you'll end up making templates and things like that and borrowing pieces from other solutions to really simplify the amount of time it takes to create a solution. Now, if you're only creating one solution or two solutions, it may not be as important to have FileMaker Advanced for this reason, for the copying and pasting or importing of schema.
