[00:00:00.0] So we've discovered a lot about this dialog in the Field section, we've discovered how to create fields, how to go into options, how to change, how to duplicate, how to delete. If you have FileMaker Advanced, copy and paste. We learned about types. All kinds of things we learned about. We in fact, we learned how to manipulate this area by moving these fields around, by changing how they're sorted, by changing the View By. All the stuff we learned, so there's a lot of work you can do in here and a lot of manipulation to make this dialog the way you want it. What we haven't gone over is the tables and relationships section. Now, we're doing a single table, just a contact manager. We don't need tables and relationships. But I want to briefly go over these so you're not scared of these areas. In fact, we've already gone over the Tables section and we've seen how to create a table briefly. We didn't really go over it with a significant amount of emphasis, but I wanted to come in here and show you how it works in a little more detail. So if we want to create a new table, we just type in the name and hit Create. And you notice that this table has 0 fields and 0 records. It also has occurrences in the graph. So if we go to the Field Section we'll see that we can choose Contacts versus New Table. We can create fields that only exist inside of this table. So if we switch over to Contacts, we'll see that, hey, there's all the fields for contacts, go to New Table, there's its fields, we can work with those. So what we have are a lot of the same options for working with this area. We can sort by table name, by source, by details. Now, source is referring to something we'll get into later. Most your source right now, and probably through all these videos is going to be FileMaker. We have the details, you see there's two fields now, and we have Occurrences and Graph. Well that refers back to the relationships, which we'll talk about in a second. And you also have your View By Creation Order, Table Name, or Custom Order. And you also have this little icon over here for reversing that direction. It also tells you how many tables you have to find and now we really don't need this table so I'm going to actually delete it. Now, we're going to permanently delete the selected FileMaker table and all their fields and record data. Really important when you're doing stuff inside here to read this dialog. Now, it also says remove occurrences of these tables in the graph. Now, you really don't know what an occurrence is, or what I like to call a Table Occurrence. So let's hit Cancel and look over relationships and see that we have interestingly enough, my table missing. If you remember from the earlier tutorial, we created this. And we didn't check that box, so it did this. This has no table reference. This relationship where this table occurrence has no reference to a real table. So we actually want to get rid of that, just click on it, and hit the Delete key. ÔCourse, we want to read this dialog, we'll hit Remove, and that's gone. Now you'll also see that we have one for New Table, one for Contacts. These are table occurrences. They actually aren't tables. They're kind of like aliases and short cuts to your tables and don't worry if you don't completely understand this right now, I just want to plant the seed. These are table occurrences and you can have many table occurrences for a single table. So just, if you can get that part, you're doing really well right now. Notice that there's lots of icons down here, a Print button, we're going to go all over those in the Intermediate Tutorial. We're going to basically just give you an overview of this. So all you have to remember is: Table occurrences are not tables. Now, if we come into the table section and we decide to delete this, and we also choose also remove occurrences of the table in the graph, that means any occurrences, Ôcause there can be more than one table occurrence matching that table, they'll all be gone, in this case only one will be gone if we check this. So I'll hit Delete, go back to Relationships, you can see that's gone now. So there's a lot of stuff you can do in here, in the Tables section. A lot like Define Fields, in a certain way, but this is where you create the tables. And then inside the tables, you create the fields. And then what you do is, if you want a relationship, if you want to have two tables talk to each other, you do all that work in here, and that's what all these buttons are for down here, but we'll get into that later. So for now, if you feel like you're comfortable with the Fields section, what we're going to cover next is how to create records and do data entry with the fields you've created.
