Printing and Presenting Data in Preview Mode / Sliding Fields

Subtitles of the Movie

I am going to layout mode now and we can look at layout that I am using to print this particular report which is in invoice. You will see that I have fields up here the customer name, address, city, state and zip and when I display the data in browse mode, you will see that all of the data for this particular customer can be displayed there. When I go to this customer these blank space because the address field is big enough for three or four lines of data also there are spaces here. One of the things that I can do in layout mode is to specify that certain fields can move or slide and what I am doing is selecting all of the fields in the address block I come up to the format menu and in sliding I can say I want to slide these fields to the left and slide them up and reduce the size of the closing part. The result of that is that when I go into preview mode for this record the data will be closed up and what I am going to do is going to browse mode. You will take a look at their and I am going take that one record and going to preview mode and come zoom at back out so you can see and I am going switch back in for that again look at the data there and look at it browse mode . In preview mode if I go to the same record the Adams record you will see that it is tighten up. When I am looking at the Adams record in the browse mode it's not tighten up. So preview mode does the sliding to tighten up the data. It will tighten it up it will not expand it so you feels need to be big enough for the largest amount of data that's going to be displayed there and once again this only happens in preview mode. When for example you are printing.
