Entering Data in Browse Mode / Replacing Data

Subtitles of the Movie

The last command in record's menu that I am going to talk about in this segment is the replace command. It's a very useful way of correcting mistake or post do, post sell data entry. If I click in a text field the command is now available, and I click on replace field context and I have the choices of replacing all of the data in the records in the current found set. In this case that's all of the records in the file with the current value. If I were to type a value in this field. You will say now that the option is instead of empty string it's the string in this record. I can also insert serial numbers getting initial values and increment values and I can perform a calculation based on data in this record or another records to a place that in every record in again. In this case the entire database or at the currently found records. I can find all of the records for specific customer and replace the phone number in all of those records with a new phone number for that customer. I would type in the phone number click on the field that I want to replace and use the replace string for it. This can be a very powerful way of entering data or correcting mistakes.
