Save a Found Set / Completing the Interface pt. 2

And now that we've got all of the relationships in there, now we need to make our value lists, so we're going to go into File, Manage, Value Lists. Come into our Found Sets, specify the field, and now we want to change it to only include related values, starting from, so this is a starting point. This is interesting, how FileMaker treats the start and the end inside of this dialog. It's not based on the layout you're on, as we're used to. It's based on the start here and the end here, so our start is Invoices. That's the layout that's attached to this layout you see. That's where we're showing records from. Then we're going to go to Sets Conditional. We're going to say display name, so it's going to use that relationship from Invoices to Sets Conditional we just created and make it conditional. Now, what we also need to do is come in here and take a look at our sets. Let's go over here and if we go into Layout Mode and put some fields on there temporarily, let's grab a field and drag it down there, go to the right table and we'll put our Account Create on there and let's change that text color, there we go, make it a little bit bigger so we can read it easier. We don't have to worry about it. We're going to delete it in a second. If we look at it, we'll notice that none of the existing records have any values on it, so we're going to get rid of these because it's an auto enter. The auto enter can't occur on previous or existing records, so I'm going to go ahead and we could delete them, but we could also just use them. I know that the account name is Admin, so what we have to do is, well, I think it's going to be easier to delete them because, as you can see, it's not allowing us to modify it because we have that option. So rather than take that off, we're just going to go ahead and delete all these records, so we'll come in here and delete this record, delete that one, and we can easily save some new ones. Then we'll go back into Layout mode, get rid of this, and now what we need to do is go back to our Invoices Form and save some found sets, but we need to make sure we do it with different account names. So we'll start with the Admin account. We'll say save this as one record. We'll say Save, we'll call this 1, and then I'll Show All Records. Save another one, call it All, and then we'll come back over to our accounts. We'll go to a different account, User 1. We'll re-log in, come back over to Invoices Form, and then we'll say we'll omit some records here. Let's omit one record. That should be good enough to tell what's going on. We'll Save, we'll call this User 1, then we'll come back over here, over to our accounts, switch back to our Admin and re-log in, and let's take a look at what we have over here in our sets. What we can do is we probably should have left that field in the layout, but we can easily add it, come down here and throw it on the layout. That'll be our Account Create. Change that text color. There we go. There's the text color. Go to Browse Mode and we can see we have Admin, Admin, and User 1. So that's great. Now they can relate to each other. Let's see how they work. So I'm going to take this off the layout, but I'll probably regret it, but take that off the layout and now we're going to go over to Browse Mode and we really don't have to run the script. We can just simply go to our Invoices Restore and you can see we have all or one and you can see how we need to initialize this, make sure this is actually initialized before we come in, so let's double check that. So we'll come in here and look at it. There's our restore and you can see how we haven't initialized that, so let's add that set field in here. We'll say set field and that will be our, let's see, there we go. Invoice is the right one, xname, set it to quote quote. There we go. Now we'll make sure that's initialized when we come in with a script, because I had forgotten to do that earlier. So now you can see that we can choose all or one. We can't really choose User 1 because it's not a choice here, but if we come over here and log on with our accounts and re-log in using User 1, now when we come back here to our Invoices Restore, we only see User 1, so there's a great little feature so people don't have to look at everybody else's found sets; they can just see the ones that they've saved.
