FileMaker Pro 10: Advanced Tutorials

Introduction / Accounts & Passwords

Subtitles of the Movie

If you're just starting with the Advanced tutorial or maybe you've forgotten the password for the work file we created in the Intermediate tutorial, make sure you write down these passwords and accounts that I'm showing here. If you're new to the Advanced tutorial, there is a Work Files folder that contains the file we're working on. It's called Invoices.FP7 and we'll be taking a look at that later. There's a lot of work that's been done in the beginner and the Intermediate tutorial and if you're just starting on the advanced, well, then you need to have that file and need to understand it and probably review it, but more importantly, in order to open it, you're going to need these passwords. So if you want full access to ScriptMaker, Manage Database, Layout Mode and all that good stuff, you'll need to type in account of Admin and a password of 1234. Now, we've purposely made this very simple because this is just a test file. You would normally want something this easy to guess, but we're making it easy do you don't have any trouble with forgetting it right now. Now, if you want to test out the solution with limited user ability, there are two accounts. There's User1 with the same password of 1234, and User2 with a password of 1234. You should probably review what these accounts and privileges settings are. You know, log on with Admin and 1234 and look at User1 and User2. See what privilege sets they belong too. See what capabilities they have. Or, really, the best idea is to go back and actually review the Intermediate tutorial. It's really a better idea to have gone through the whole series because there's some important stuff that's been listed in there, but it's up to you. We're going to get into some more advanced stuff inside of this tutorial, a lot of scripting, a lot of calculations, and even into the new script trigger feature.
