And then we're going to put another Set Field down here. And we're going to say set the field xback and this is the most complicated we're going to get. We actually do have to do a test here. And we'll discuss it after we type it in. We're going to say Case is Empty open paren dollar sign dollar sign Back close paren semicolon. If that's empty, result in the word Dimmed. Otherwise result in the word Back. There we go. So why are we doing this? Well, it's possible as you're backing through that it's going to be the last history that you can go through. If that's the case, if dollar sign dollar sign Back is empty, well then we need to put the word Dimmed in there. If it's not empty yet, in other words there's more history going, we'll keep putting the word Back in there and it's ok to keep putting the same value over what might already be there even though we might have ten things in the history and we keep putting Back, Back, Back, Back and then eventually get to the last one we put Dimmed. It just makes the formula much easier if we don't have to test for this. So there we go. That's our two pieces here. Now, it is very important that we put this Set Field right here. It has to come after the Set Variable. If it comes here, well then it's going to be one step behind what we're doing with our Variable because the Variable is going to remove all the values. Eventually when it gets down to nothing, it's going to have to say Dimmed in there. So if we remove the value after we're putting this test in here, then it's going to be one step behind and we don't want that to be that way. We need to be right here so that as soon as this is empty, then the next step is OK, make it Dimmed. So we're going to copy these because we're going to put them in our Forward Navigate. They're almost essentially the same so if you have FileMaker Advanced copy them. You can use a keyboard command or go up here and choose copy. If you don't have it you'll have to retype these. It's not that hard so it's not that big of a deal. So we'll save that, go to our Forward Navigate, paste right there, move the second one down right there and then we just need to reverse that. This needs to be xback and this needs to be the word Back. Just makes it real easy. Everything you see, make sure you reverse it. So we got that fixed. Now we'll come down here and this should be xforward as the target field and then we need to change this to dollar sign dollar sign Forward. Dimmed will stay the same but this'll change the word Forward. Simple as that. We've got it all updated for the Forward Navigate. It's really a mirror image of your Back Navigate script, so keep remembering that. It's very easy. So now that we've got all this done we're ready to test it out. Let's go into our Data Viewer. Make sure we don't have any values in dollar sign dollar sign Back. We don't. So all we have to do is start navigating. So we'll go to Notes. We see that now our Back Button's available. Go to List. Still have our Back Button available. And now if I click Back, the Forward shows up. I mean, I can go Forward and as soon as I get to the end it empties and I can go Back, Back and it empties as soon as I have no history to go back through. So this is great. Great visual cues for the user who is using the system. I mean, you know, you still have, if you click on it, it says there's no history to navigate but just that visual cue really tells them what's going on and it will make your database experience for users much better.
