Fedora 11 Tutorials

Introduction / Welcome

Subtitles of the Movie

I'm Mike Jang and I'll be your guide through the VTC Tutorials designed to help you take full advantage of Red Hat's Fedora Distribution. This course is based on Fedora 11 released in June of 2009. If you're interested in the Server, be aware that Red Hat is reportedly using Fedora 11 as the development platform for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, which reportedly may be released in early 2010. If you want to keep up with the latest in Linux as supported by an amazing community, Fedora is the distribution for you. In this course I'll guide you through the installation and configuration of Fedora as a Desktop operating system with a focus on the default GUI environment known as GNOME. I'll show you how I configure Fedora with the right software, the best network connections, a custom Desktop look and feel, browsers, message clients, printers Ð local and remote, remote connections, multimedia, office suites, and lots more. But that's just a list. What you get from this course is detailed hands-on instruction in how to make Red Hat's community operating system work for you. Thank you, and in the next video I'll describe system requirements.
