Edit Smoothing. So, once I've got all this, depending on how much things actually mov, I could start hearing a little bit of noticeable gaps between this. Let me turn off the Click. So, extremely subtle in this case. If I start changing Tempos around, I've got these at Tick-based Track then the Regions will move again, so since it's Region-conforming, so you can again, refer to the movie that talks about dealing with Tick-based Tracks, but what I'm really after here is having all of these gaps filled in. So, keep in mind that Pro Tools with Beat Detective is not doing any Time Stretching, so this has been around for some time long before we had any of these Time Stretching that's happening with Elastic Audio. So, I've got each of these Regions and if I wanted to Smooth all these out, what this is going to do is just, with the Fill Gaps, is just essentially go through like I would do with the Trim Tool and drag each one of these out based on where each of these Hit Points are, so let me zoom in a little bit here. You can see that I've got on every single one of these a Sync Point that's there and then right before that, this is the 10 milliseconds that I set for my Precut back on my Region Separation, so I set my Trigger Pad I want to have 10 milliseconds, there's actually where the Trigger was, and if I went in and just hit Fill Gaps, so I'll zoom back out, it's going in and filling each one of those just by stretching those out as far as Trimming them, so it's not doing any Time Stretch. The Fill Gaps and Cross Fades can be helpful so you actually can get a nice Smooth cross bay between them to blend these things together, so it's move them and then it's done it's this Cross Fade based on what you specify here so, really small Cross Fade across each of these, and this is something that some people like to use just as a tool, even on things that they didn't Beat Detective, so they'd slice things up and you can go through, Fill Gaps and then Cross Fade even after the fact. So, now let's take a listen to what we've got once this is all done. And this can definitely take a lot of time so be aware of that as far as the RAM and processing goes when you're going across a lot of Tracks. Beat Detective, the whole song, can take a long time if you want to do that, so you may not want to do that Cross Fades. Alright, pretty good. So we took something other than just a standard 4-4, or you can do different Time Signatures, definitely change your Meter and make sure that your Click is in the right spot so everything is conforming properly and it definitely can be done on different Time Signatures, and Beat Detective can straighten things out and give you different Feels. So, kind of nice. You may even want to use this just to play around and get a completely different Feel Ð two drum Tracks side by side each other, same performance, and just get some offsets with this, so another creative thing that you can do with that.
