Now that I've got the basics of the app taking shape, it's time to go the next step and to go to a dataSource and what I will do is come down here and look at the data sources. I have a dataSource. I always have one that's created when I create a new project and let me look at source code which includes the dataSource. You'll see that it's empty. There's no URL there. There's nothing in it. And what I'm going to do, I have a file lying around that I've used before when we were looking at an Integrated Directory App and I'll take that file and make it the basis of this dataSource and then I'm going to modify that a little later on. So let me come down here. I have the dataSource. I'm going to add a file to the project and I have the file sitting right up here. Right now I've got it down here. Now, relative to this part of the project, it's one up and you can see I had to one directory up because it's in here and if it had been inside the same folder, I wouldn't have to go up. But that's what I did. I could also have it on a server, type in a URL that's distant and I've got the information that I've used before and you can see that there are two records in this file, which you may remember from when we used the Integrated Directory App. So I'm ready to move on and what I want to do is to use this grid view, which has space for a label and space for an image and I want to put each image here and because this is an image, I want it to be a source so that I can pick up the image. I also want to see if I can pick up the name and put it here. Now, I'm going to have to do some adjustments later on because some of these names are too long and it's not going to make sense. They're going to be really squished up and really small. So I have the dataSource. I have the basic connections made to the grid and I'll run it right away and see what I've got. I always run as soon as I can to see what's happened and lo and behold, I have a grid. I can select, notice the cell. I can select the other cell. The items are small but there is text here. You can see this one is truncated with three dots at the end. We'll go through the text and we'll see if I need to make some adjustments there. But often, this is fine. The first name and a bit of the second is enough, particularly with the image to show you what's going on. So now I can go from one to the other and I could have maybe nine or ten. Well there's three in a row so I'd say nine here and still have space for some information to be displayed below. So that's the basics. I'm on the right track. Now I have to start wiring it up so that information about the selected grid cell is displayed on the app.
