I'd like to take a moment to wrap up by discussing what is in the Work Files and some basic precautions. First, do remember that this video contains suggestions. You'll need to research the applicability on your server. As you've heard me mention not everything applies to every situation. Always proceed cautiously when working with your database. We always want to make sure that we have as many backups as necessary and to ensure that we are not damaging any current data. Have a recent tested backup copy before you proceed. Keep in mind that data can get corrupted and we want to be as safe and cautious as we can in protecting that data. Our databases are probably one of the most important components in business. Business intelligence is an exceptionally important aspect of any industry. It's our job to ensure that it's accurate and that it's safe. Also, always test outside of your production environment first. Try to do as much as possible to understand what those changes are going to do. It's very time consuming to be able to pull of a copy and replace it with something else. So take efforts to really make sure your changes are gonna work correctly before putting it into your production area itself. And remember, not all solutions will be applicable for your situation. That's where you'll need to remember to research to make sure the changes are correct. The idea here is that we wanna start with our backup, go to our test site, then to our testing and then to production. We may have to go back to testing again, back to the test site, back to testing, back to production. It's a flow that we're interested in when we're working with any kind of changes to our database. It's a flow that we're interested in when we're trying to optimize the database itself. Now for your convenience, I have included some Work Files within the actual video itself. You will note that I have included a general checklist so that you can put together your own plan of what to look at. In addition, I've included another checklist that is just about the indexes. If you recall our indexes were incredibly important to the overall optimization of our database itself. You'll also notice that I've added a document on Profiler Terminology. I tried to include a printout of some of the information that will really help you get started with Profiler. And then of course we have the sample file. You will find Microsoft's sample of Northwind and of Adventureworks. With Adventureworks is the overall schema for the database itself. Take some time to actually load these and you'll have a wonderful practice environment for the techniques that are used within this video. Those are the sample files that I have worked with in all of the queries and all of the coding that you've seen in the video itself. Finally, you will see that there is a folder called Database Tuning Information. Again, you will see a printout of information regarding the tuning aspect and you will also see a couple of the queries that we have used that you can try within your test environment also.
