Earlier we discussed how to record a script, now I want to show you how you can change a script or rather edit a script and trust me this is the coolest feature in the world. This sketch here that I created earlier I actually recorded and I am going to show you how I can change the brush type as well as the variant to have the computer automatically redraw it for me. So I'm gonna go to window menu and I'm gonna choose show scripts and as you see I named this guy cool sketch and what I want to change in this particular case is the variant and you'll notice that if you scroll there is a ton of different options from color to stroke, there's so many things that Painter records when you work. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna twirl this down and as you see when I painted I originally used Painter brushes category of course this is the default library where the brushes are located when you install painter. And my brush that I chose was acrylics and the variant acrylics that I originally used I believe was opaque, acrylic 30 and I just typed this in to show you that I could change it. Now how do you know what to put here, well what you have to do is you have to go to the brush, that you want to have swapped out for example and you want to change the entire brush we can choose watercolor for example or let's go ahead and choose, uh let's see if I can find something completely different here. We'll choose calligraphy and we have to type that in here so I'm gonna go to where its says brush, I'll double click and I'm gonna type exactly what I see up there. So I've typed calligraphy, I'll click OK, and now I have to choose a variant. So I'm gonna go ahead and select let's see,uh we'll choose dry ink, we'll double click here where it says variant and once again we'll type what that says right here under this line, dry ink. Now that I've done that I'll click OK, and I'm going to press the playback button and Painter launches my new document because of the file open was included in my instructions and it's gonna play it back and what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna zoom out and let's see how different the two sketches are. Let's move this out of the way, based on the brush that I selected so it's kind of similar but there are some changes here let's go ahead and try that again with a different type of brush. I will choose something else, this time we'll go for, let's see, we'll choose pastels, and I will choose a round pastel, I have to type that in so once again for the brush, I double click and I have to type the new brush type, I wish this was a little more automated like a little list I can choose from. And I have to choose the variant, double click on the variant name, and type what you see up there, round X, soft pastel and that's number 10. I click OK and I'll hit the play button and definitely looks different this time. OK I'll move this out of the way, I'll zoom out a little bit more and let's compare the two illustrations. As you see it looks completely different because I was able to edit this script, and change the brush, as well as the variant by entering it manually and you can do the same thing with some of the other parameters such as color and so on so just scroll through this list here and find some of the features that you want to change and just enter that in. You can change the paper, the contrast as you see there. You can change whatever textures you put in there. So all you have to do is just find the new paper and type the name and so on. So it just takes some time and practice of using this uh feature, it can be quite handy because it can just save you a lot of time instead of you know recreating something from scratch and trying to emulate it with a different medium. Just do it one way and then try entering some new brushes and variants and papers to change the entire look of your artwork.
