Introduction / Mac and PC Conventions
Subtitles of the Movie
Painter 9 for both the Macintosh computer systems as well as windows operating systems works in the same exact way. But of course there are some minor differences. For example, when I mention that we're going to change preferences you'll notice that on a Macintosh computer they'll go next to the apple menu and choose the name of the application. For example, Corel Painter 9 and then you'll find preferences listed under here. On a Windows PC the preferences will be located under your edit menu so just keep that in mind. So when I say go to preferences you know if you don't find it make sure you're in the edit menu if you're on a Windows machine. Other than that the keyboard commands are slightly different. For example, on a Macintosh the command key is the one with the picture of the apple on it or that little swirly symbol. On a Windows machine, the command key is known as the control key. On a Macintosh computer the option key is called the alt key on a Windows machine. So other then that if there are any other major differences while we're working I will bring those to your attention. So as you see Painter is going to be pretty much the same experience on either platform.
