The esoterica category in the effects menu has a couple of things in there that make you kind of go hmm, and one of them is growth. Very weird, let's go ahead and check this out. Growth basically allows you to create these kind of weird shapes and you create them interactively by dragging that shape in your actual image. For example as you see here it says click and drag in image to grow. So we'll click and we drag and there you have it. What you can do with this is you can affect this thing here by using these sliders. For example we can completely get rid of the branches and the forks by going all the way to the left in the flatness slider and of course we can go the opposite way and create a more interesting shape by increasing the flatness by 150 percent. So let's go back to the middle so we can see what we are doing here. The thin out will thin out, the forks or the little fingers in the actual tree branch. And thicken them way too much if you go to thin out to a 150 percent. So once again let's go back to the middle, random will do just that, it will on its own create some kind of interesting effects for you and once again all you have to do is come out here and draw to put that shape in your image. Let's go back to the middle. Thickness will increase the thickness of the trunk, branch will increase or decrease the amount of branches within the growth. Max level will almost randomize as this did here so if you go all the way to the end your gonna achieve almost a flatness and you come out here and your going to thicken it out and also maximize it. So let's go ahead and put that back in the middle, well right about here. Fork will change the forks and increase them so you can go all the way here to have almost like a throwing star. And you can increase the forks by going over here and they bend a little bit and the fork ratio you can also change as well. Once again if you like what you have click and drag to draw the shape in your canvas. Hard edges will give you a nice smooth effect if you turn it off. Put that back on and fractal will give you a little bit of a round circle so you can create almost like a Celtic image by turning fractal off and on to create nice logos and that kind of thing. So that's what the growth will do. Now let's go ahead and create a new document and we'll talk about maze. Let's go to effect, esoterica, maze, and it does exactly what it says, it will allow you to create a maze on the document. So what I'm gonna do is, I'm gonna click pattern, and I'm going to increase the thickness of the actual lines and I'll click OK and see what we have. So that's a maze. I'm gonna undo that, and we're gonna go back to that same category and this time we are gonna turn off pattern, we're gonna turn on display solution, and seed once again is the randomness, we'll leave that alone. We can change the maze color, we can change the background of the maze, click OK and now you see the solution to the maze. Each maze will only have one solution, one in and out which is kind of cool as well. So that's what the maze does, it's kind of cool if you want to make a book and you want to make your own mazes and that kind of stuff, give it to the kids to play with when their in the restaurant so their not causing any trouble.
