Blenders play a huge role in your Painter artwork. They allow you to just worry about laying down colors and then they'll help you to Blend them. Let me give you an example. I'm going to grab, I think the Chalks good. I'll leave the chalk as it is and I'm going to make a couple of marks on the canvas. Let me go ahead and change the color to something else. And I'm just going to paint. The decent size brush, something that's just, switch my colors here, and make some marks like this. And I'll change the color. Once again I'm not going to worry about an even transition, just going to keep going and drop the colors down knowing that I can come back later on with the Blenders. I'm going to also add a few colors over here, right on top. OK. So now that I have some colors down and now I want to blend them, I can go to a different category of brushes appropriately called Blenders. Then I can choose the type of Variant that I'm going to work with. As you can see, you have quite a few. There is one that allows you to blur. There's Course Oily Blender and then each one of those guys has a different number behind it I can also choose to Smear gives some nice detail. And when you're doing things like Watercolor or you want to diffuse the colors you can choose Diffuse Blur. You even have some grainy ones and of course the one I use most often is Just Add Water. So you could just pretty much go through this list and find something that's appropriate. If you like to use Pencil you might want to use a pointed stump which I use it quite a bit when I use Pencil. And I even choose to permit runny and smear and smudge, so you can get a finger painting kind of feel. So what I'm going to do is actually grab the Smudge and I'm going to simply click and drag my mouse and you notice the two colors now are blending into one another. I can even use it on the colors themselves just to you know smear them out a little bit. So I don't necessarily have to just blend two colors together, I can even smudge or whatever effect I have selected on the colors themselves. I'll grab Just Add Water and I'll go along the edge here and as you can see it's pretty strong, so you may have to reduce the bleed on that and also you can drop the Opacity down and you can pretty much lower the power of that as you can see there. So I can see a little bit more color through there. Drop the bleed down a little bit more and I have the ability to see even more of that color. Let's go ahead and choose a different one this time. We will go to a stump, as you can see its pretty hard, pretty powerful, so you have to choose the blender that you want to use and then change the settings. Sometimes you'll have to change the bleed, sometimes you'll have to change the grain, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve. You can also add some randomness to the Blender and this is typically called Jitter. You'll find this word in several different applications. So when you want to apply some randomness just increase the Jitter and then you can see what you come up with. So once again Blenders are a very helpful tool that will allow you to take colors and create smooth transition from one color into another or even multiple colors at the same time.
