Corel Painter 11 Tutorials

Interface / Email from Painter

Subtitles of the Movie

When I do artwork for clients whether it's a logo or a sketch of a cartoon character or anything, trust me when I tell you they want to see while you are working on it so they can give you feedback, whether you are going too far in one direction or not far enough. So Corel Painter, wisely and I hope every application in the world offers this feature next, yes, please steal it, is the ability to email your artwork right from Painter to your email application. Now what I typically do is I will take a screen shot or I would have in the past gone to File and Save as, Save as a JPEG or any other format that I could then upload to my website or using Apple's Mobile Me put it on My Gallery and then email that link to my client. So I don't have to do all that anymore. What I can do is simply have my file open like this, go to File, Email Image. Once again, I implore everyone out there who develops software to add this feature, thank you very much. This will open up the Send Email Dialog Box, from here you can rename your image if you so desire. But I think Lumbering Ogre is quite descriptive. I can also choose to email using my favorite application. So I can use Apple Mail, Eudora or Microsoft Entourage. I can also choose the format, I can choose to save it as a JPEG and if I have layers as you can see here they will be merged and I can also control the quality of the image which in turn will dictate the file size. Now typically my clients have high speed computers and high speed networks so low quality is probably something I would never do. I would typically go from high or somewhere around here, about 50 percent all the way to high. Then if you want to you can also choose to use the PNG Format which is Portable Network Graphics. The PNG Format also supports transparency, so if you're working with a web designer and you have some transparent areas of your image they can then put that on the website and the transparency should remain intact. If I want to send it to the TIFF Format which is Tag Image File Format I can choose this as well. As you can see here once again all images will have their layers merged and the image quality will be maintained and all that kinds of good stuff.
