Corel Painter 11 works better with Photoshop then it ever has in the past. Photoshop and Painter can understand each other's layers, the things on those layers and special effects. So what I'm going to do is quickly show you how this works. As you can see I'm in a regular old Painter Document and I only have one layer. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to create a New Layer and on this layer I'm going to grab my brush and just paint something and I'll create another Layer and let go ahead and just change my Color and I'll create one more Layer and change the Color yet again. OK great, now I have these layers and I'm going to go to File and I'm simply going to Save and what I want to do is save it in the Photoshop Format and on my Desktop I'll just call it test. I'll click Save and then I'm going to hop over to Photoshop and I'm going to create a brand New Document just to show you that we can go either or. You can open up the document I just created with no problem, but I'm also going to do it from Photoshop to Painter as well. So in Photoshop let me grab my Layers and I'm going to do the same thing. Going to paint something on this guy here and I'm going to create a brand New Layer and I'm going to go ahead and give a different color and I'll create one more Layer and what I'm going to do on this one is I'm going to, let's see here. I think I'll put a different Color and also a Special Effect. So let me go ahead and grab this color and do this. Then I'll go to Filter and I'm going to Blur this one with the Gaussian Blur. Alright, on this one I'm going to call it, on my Desktop, Test 2. Alright. So what we're going to do first of all I'm going to close Test 2 and we're going to open up the one that was created in Painter. So I'll go to File, Open and on my Desktop I'm going to open up Test and as you can see this is the Painter Document. I'll open that up and there are all the layers intact as they were created inside of Painter. Now let's go ahead to Painter and we're going to go to File, Open and we're going to open up Test 2, the one that was created inside of Photoshop and there it is. Gaussian Blur intact. So as you can see this can really open up a lot of possibilities, especially for people who want to use a lot of the filters that are contained inside of Photoshop on their Painter work. So you don't have to be so careful now about why can't I use this filter or I can't do this special effect because these guys really do handshake very well. So, experiment and see what new kinds of artwork you can create using the team combo of Corel Painter 11 and Photoshop.
