In this movie, we'll wrap up this section where we created the project Schedule by revisiting the Schedule Baseline and covering three Formats that can be used to present the Schedule. As you learned earlier within this course, the Schedule Baseline is the approved and accepted version of the Schedule plus any approved changes. Our first version of the project Schedule will be the same as the Schedule Baseline, but when we refer simply to the project Schedule we're referring to the actual Schedule that contains Schedule process of work completed and in progress. While the Schedule Baseline can be updated through approved changes, as I mentioned earlier, changes should be carefully considered. Through the use of software, we'll be able to present the Schedule with ease. I want to acknowledge that you've likely seen a project Schedule at one time or another, if not dozens of them over the course of your career, but what I'd like to bring to your attention are three ways of displaying the Schedule. Again, you've likely seen the various formats that I'll present, but for the exam you should know when it's appropriate to use them. In other words, consider your audience when presenting the Schedule. One way of presenting the Schedule is through Network Diagrams. They're the ones that we created earlier within this section, although we'll likely not be doing this by hand. This provides a very detailed look at the Schedule, particularly the existing dependencies and a highlight of the Critical Path. This format is best used by project team members who need to view the finite details of the project work. Gantt Charts, also known as Bar Charts, are a common way of presenting this Schedule. You can visually see the duration of activities, clearly show milestones, all in a timeline that's easy to read. This is a great tool for management and team members as well. CompTIA describes these as a way to share the Schedule activities with the associated start and completion dates. Moving to a more high level format we have Milestone Charts. The Milestone Chart shows updates for the project milestones, a great format to update senior management who are typically only interested in a summary schedule or an at-a-glance update. Before we close out this movie, I'd like to reiterate the importance of building a solid schedule through well thought out planning effort and the inclusion of expert judgment. This will lead to the creation of a Schedule Baseline that will provide you with a great deal of value in managing the overall work of the project. And that concludes this movie on the Schedule Baseline and Schedule Formats.
