Subtitles of the Movie

One thing I always like to cover during an exam preparation course is Test Day and that's our focus for this movie. The unknown can throw us off and make us a bit apprehensive so I'd like to clarify what you can expect on Test Day. We'll strive to reduce the negative risk of Test Day and tie in your Test Day schedule by clarifying a few points within this movie and also clue you in on what to expect. If you're taking a computer-based exam, which the great majority of you will be doing, it will either be at a Pearson VUE testing center or a Prometric testing center. All testing centers are slightly different with some more strict than others, so we'll assume strict just to be safe. First, carefully map out the location of the testing site, even visiting the test site prior to your test date so that you're aware of any road blocks, traffic, or other delays that you can expect. Plan to arrive up to an hour early. Depending on your testing center, some require you to check in one hour prior to your exam, else you might be turned away, but that varies so if you're unsure check with your test center first. Next, you'll need your ID at the test site. Most of us walk around with our IDs anyway, but double check that you have yours and a second ID, like a credit card, in your possession and ready to show. When you register for the computer-based exam you'll be sent an e-mail that outlines what you need to bring with you, so have this ready or call the test center if you need to confirm. Next, I always suggest avoiding doing anything out of the norm a day before the exam. It gets cold in the test center. Bring a sweater with you and wear comfortable clothing. If you can, take the day off from work so that you can fully concentrate on your exam and don't schedule anything that might take your attention away from the test itself, like a flight. Going back to the clothing, you're allowed to bring your sweater into the test room typically as long as you're wearing it. Don't worry about bringing note paper. You typically aren't allowed to take it in. You'll be provided with blank sheets of paper to use as scratch paper along with a pencil by the test site. Once the exam is complete you're required to submit that paper back to the testing representative. Other than you ID, locker key, and a paper and pencil given to you, you won't be allowed to take anything else with you into the testing room. That includes a calculator. These days the calculator itself is embedded into the exam. Normally your assigned a locker where you can place your belongings or the testing representative will lock it away for you in a safe place. And, out of courtesy, don't forget to turn off your cell phone. You usually won't be the only one taking an exam in the testing room. There will be people inside of the testing room taking all kinds of exams and that means that you'll have distractions with people coming and going so be sure to expect that. You're allowed to take breaks when you need to during the exam but the clock doesn't stop, so make sure you plan carefully. You'll need to sign in and out with a representative each time you take a break. As soon as you submit your exam and this is computer-based exams only, you'll find out if you passed or failed. That's right. You'll know immediately before leaving the testing room. And that completes all of the Test Day pointers. I'd prefer not to weigh you down with more than you need to know, so I hope these tips have proven to be useful for you on Test Day. As a closing note, go to the exam well rested and feeling confident about the material. By the way, this also brings us to the very end of the course. I hope that you've enjoyed going through the material with me and feel comfortable about the contents that the exam will cover. In addition, I hope you gained important knowledge to enhance your project management skills. I wish you the best of luck on your exam and within your career.
