Let's go through some sample test questions on security, just to give you an idea of some of the things you might see. Ah, encryption and security will be on your test, ah, no matter which version you take, ah, security is a, a major portion of any kind of ah, computer implementation nowadays and so you will see questions on it. And, I would almost bet you you'll see one very, very similar to this one: Which type of encryption provides the most security? Ah, one of the things they're going to test you on is that you know the most secure encryption to use. First of all, PAP if you remember that, that was the um, Password Authentication Protocol. That was the least secure because it's the oldest and the pass, that password and clear text. MSCHAP that, if you remember is your answer. MSCHAP is an extension of CHAP, which is the Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol. PAP2 ah does not exist, ah, maybe it's an acronym of some other industry, but not this one that I know of, and ah CPU, of course, CPU, you know what that is. Go all the way back to some of the first videos in the course. That's the brains of the computer, so the correct answer is MSCHAP, and just again, make sure that you go through that encryption video and you're up to speed on this. Here's a very simple question that you really need to make sure you know the answer to this, and watch for this particular knowledge to come in handy on quite a few questions on the real A Plus exam. Which file system provides the most security? FAT, FAT32, NTFS, or MSCHAP. Now, there's a little bit of a trick aspect to these answers. FAT and FAT32 are the old file allocation table systems. They're not the most secure. NTFS is and the reason is NTFS gives us ah, folder and file level security. We can do access, permissions on files and folders. MSCHAP gives you the most security, but when we're dealing with encryption, not a file system, so watch for that. That could be a little bit of a trick, so make sure you can ah get past something like that on the exam, and of course, NTFS is our correct answer there. Last question here for the sample test: Which of the following helps reduce the risk of our hardware failure. Look at our choices. NTFS, EAP, Backups, or All of the above. Now. Does NTFS helped us reduce the risk of hardware failure? No. Ah, it is primarily concerned with um, security and a more efficient ah, storage of data on the hard disk, and ah, so no, ah it's not primarily there to help us in the risk of hardware failure. EAP is encryption that's used in the wireless technologies, so that's not helping with hardware failure. Backups are what we need to do. By saving that data somewhere else, even if our hard disk, or our computer dies, we still have access to our data somewhere else, and so, obviously D, All of the above, is not correct. So the correct answer there is going to be C. Anyway, just ah, three simple questions to help you. Again, what I'm trying to get you to do is just help you to get ah, very ah comfortable, very at ease with handling these questions and going through these answers systematically, and ah, whittling it down to give yourself the best shot of choosing the correct one.
