Advanced Access Control Software / Configuration
Subtitles of the Movie
This is Citrix Access Gateway Advanced Edition 4.5 and in this video we're going to discuss the initial set up of the Advanced Access Server. Now if you'll recall from our installation video at the very end of the install process we were presented with a check box to run the Server Configuration. We cleared that check box but if we had left it selected and hit Finished this is what would have happened. We can go manually run the Citrix Access Gateway Server Configuration Wizard and this is what we would see. The first screen asks us if we already have an Access Server Farm. Since we do not have an Access Server Farm we're going to create a new Access Server Farm. So we'll hit Next, here's the Service Account that we discussed in our installation overview. In this case I'm going to give it the Administrator Account although in a more locked down Active Directory environment you would have a special Service Account that only this server used and there are my log in credentials and we'll hit Next. The next option we have is for Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server Express. The only difference between the two options is if you'll look in the Microsoft SQL Server you have to give database access credentials if you specify a Microsoft SQL Server. Whereas if you use Microsoft SQL Server Express the Service Account credentials are used to access the database. Also if you did not have SQL Server Express already installed on the server you're installing on, then it would install it for you. In our case even though we have the MSDE Version of Microsoft SQL Server installed we will choose this top option simply because we don't have the SQL Server Express which is a different installation then MSDE. So we'll choose Microsoft SQL Server, we'll hit Next. It wants to know the Database Server that the Farm Database will be kept on and what you want to name the Access Server Farm. Int his case we will put VTC-CAGAA for the Farm Database Server which is the local machine name as you'll see here. For the Access Server Farm Name we'll name it Demo Farm 1. With this here you can either use the Service Account that you previously specified to access the Configuration Database or if you are running against a SQL Cluster that is maintained by an outside department for example you could use SQL Authentication that they give you so that you can only access your database on their SQL Server. In our case since it is a SQL Server residing on the same machine as the Advanced Access Gateway we'll choose to use the Service Account and hit Next. Next comes the Licensing Server Set Up, the default option is to use an existing Licensing Server, since we've already installed our Licensing Server this is obviously the option we'll choose. If you did not install Licensing Server and you realized I didn't install Licensing Server you could choose to install a new License Server on this computer or you could tell it, ÒI don't wish to configure Licensing at this time,Ó and then you will simply be unable to log in to your Logon Points in your Access Server Farm until you specify a License Server and install an Access License. In this case we have an existing License server which happens to be on the same machine as we're running. So we'll hit VTC-CAGAA as the host name and we'll choose the default License Server Port and we'll hit Next. If you have multiple web sites to find in IIS for this server you can pick a certain website that you wish to use for your Advanced Access Farm. In this case we just have the default website installed on port 80 and so we will choose that as the website. If we wish to use a custom path for the content for the Access Gateway Advanced Edition, for example if the default website happen to still be on Drive C but we wish to put our web content on Drive D you could tick this check box and enter the path in this box. In this case we're going to take defaults, we'll hit Next. You're then presented with a summary of exactly what's going to happen when you click the Next Button. In this case it all looks good, it's all the options we wanted chosen, so we'll hit Next. And like magic we're done. So now that we're done with this we'll hit finish and we have successfully done the initial configuration for our Advanced Access Server Farm and this concludes our discussion on said initial configuration.
