As we wrap up the Replicator Section, we're going to go ahead and look at working with animated objects inside a replicator. You can do this both on a Surface Replicator and a Standard Replicator. It requires creating an animation segment or a bit of animation and I've got that already done here and let me expand this so you can see it a little bit here. I've got a group that comprises itself of a ring and a sphere that I've applied some behaviors to so that the motion in them is constant. As I move the timeline around, you'll see them bouncing and going up and down and they'll just keep doing that until the animation ends. You can do this with walk cycles and people. It requires having a figure animating it either doing the animation of movement manually or bringing in something called a BVH File, which stands for Bio-Vision to bring that animation in. We can then take that one element and go ahead and if you mov it, you can go ahead and replicate it and the replicators can scatter it all over a surface and you get that same kind of motion. Let's see how this works right here. I've got this one basic object right here and I'm going to go ahead and insert just a Standard Replicator and then I'm going to drag my animated group into it. And suddenly we get lots of those, so let me go ahead and select the top part of the replicator, press Zero on the keypad and that's not what I had in mind. Let's go ahead and choose the Infinite Plane. That'll back us out a little ways. Now, these are obviously far, far, far too close so, and there's far, far, far too many so let's go ahead and change what we've got going on here. We'll leave it as a bounding box for the moment. I'll duplicate this and we'll bring it down to something like three and three. It functions just like working with the other replicated items. What I do want to do is spread these out a little bit more. In fact, about 20 feet more on the X and the Y. That still may not be enough. Let's go ahead and take a look. That should be alright. I'm going to actually hide my animated group and now when I do a quick area render, we'll see that we've got four of these. Four of these; we've got three groups of four each for 12. And if I go ahead and enable Replicator, Mesh, we'll see we have them all. This is a real simple spline object, primitive sphere, so they're not intensive on terms of the mesh but when we go ahead and drag the time indicator, they're all working together; great way to create multiple machines doing the same thing. You only need to fix up one and the rest are produced automatically. Oil wells are a great candidate for this if you ever need to do any of that kind of mechanical work as well. It's another one of those added features, kind of a gee whiz thing here but know it can be done; setting things up in groups so they're easier to manage is one of the key issues here. This ends this section. In the next section we'll get onto one of my favorites and that is using Shaders and Textures.
