In this lesson you will add views to the sheets you created. To place a view on a sheet, you would drag it from the Project Browser and position it on the sheet. You can easily move views from one sheet to another. Views are updated automatically as you modify the project. Click the Menu Browser and select Open and in the Open Dialog, from the Training Files Imperial Folder, open the file RSTDOCAVS03 Place Views. Let's add a plan view to a sheet. In the Project Browser, Expand Sheets and under Sheets, double click S1.0, Plans and Elevations. Then click the View Tab and from the Sheet Composition Panel, click Place View. On the Views Dialog, select Structural Plan 01 Entry Level and click Add View to Sheet. Then move the cursor to the center of the sheet and click to place the view. Let's change the View Scale. With the View selected, right click and select Element Properties. In the Instance Properties Dialog, under Graphics for View Scale, select Sixteenth Inch Equals a Foot. Then click OK. Then click and drag the view to the upper left corner of the sheet. Then adjust the length of the view title line located under View by first clicking the view and then dragging the right end control until it fits under the view. Then press Escape and let's add an elevation view to the sheet. On the View Tab, from the Sheet Composition Panel, click Place View. In the Views Dialog, select Section, Main Stair and click Add View to Sheet. Then place the view on the lower half of the sheet. Then press Escape and let's add a callout view to the sheet. On the View Tab, from the Sheet Composition Panel, click Place a View. In the Views Dialog, select Detail View, Typical Column Detail and click Add View to Sheet. Then place that view on the upper right corner of the sheet. To change the callout view scale, right click the View and select Element Properties and change its view scale to a Quarter Inch Equals a Foot. Then drag the view to the right if necessary and press Escape. Then to adjust the length of the title line, select the View and drag the right end control to the left until it fits under the view. Then clear the selection and zoom into the callout on the Main Stair View. Notice that the callout head has placed the correct sheet and view number references. Zoom to fit and close the file without saving it as the next lesson will provide its own training file and that concludes this lesson.
