Subtitles of the Movie
In this lesson, we will use the lines from an imported AutoCAD title block to make new line work that we can edit. Click on the title block to select it. Then, from the options bar, select delete layers button. In the select layers slash levels to delete dialog box, click inside the check boxes for layer zero and layer def points to eliminate them and then click OK. Right click in the view window and select properties from the right click menu. In the properties dialog, select the edit value for the visibility parameter. In the visibility and graphics overrides for drawing sheet dialog box, select the imported categories tab. Under the imports and families category, uncheck border-text. This will turn off the border text layer in this view. click OK and then click OK again to close out of element properties. Notice the text in the title block is now not visible. Select the lines command on the family tab of the design bar to put Revit Building in sketch mode. Then click the arrow icon in the options bar. Then in the type selector, make wide lines the current line type. Now select, in turn, the four sides of the large inner border of the title block that defines where graphics will go. As you noticed, each time you select a line in the imported file, dimensions and a lock symbol will appear to enable you to edit the line you have just created in Revit Building. Now carefully select the filled arcs at the corners to finish the outline. Zoom and pan as necessary. Now in the type selector drop-down list, make medium lines the current line type. Then select, in turn, the sides of the five title block text sections. And carefully select the filled arcs at the corners to finish the outlines. When finished with the medium lines in, the type selector, make thin lines the current line type. Then select, in turn, the dividing lines inside the title block text sections. When you have completed selecting imported line work to create new lines, zoom to fit. And then type VG on your keyboard to open the visibility and graphics dialog Then select the imported categories tab. Then uncheck layer border to turn it off in this view and click OK to close the dialog. Examine the line work for completeness. Note that the four outside lines making up the title block border supplied by Revit Building do not have filled corners. This concludes this part of the lesson and we will continue to work more on this title block in the next lesson.
