Subtitles of the Movie
In this lesson, we will examine more templates. Let's examine the construction imperial template, views with phases and schedules. From the file menu, select new project. In the new project dialog, click browse. In the choose template dialog, select construction default .rte and select open. Then, back in the new project dialog, click OK. When the new construction project opens, note that the elevation symbols have been turned off in the level one view in the view window. Study the project browser. Note the floor plans listed underneath level one. And the list of all these 3-D views. Under 3-D views, select 02 demo and right click and select properties. In the element properties dialog, scroll down and note the phase filter and phase that have been applied. This file has been set up to use phases. Building elements will be differentiated according to the time they come into existence or disappear. Phases can be named and filtered. In the case, by function, demo, substructure, superstructure, exterior enclosure, interior construction, interior finished and furnishings. Each phase, then, can appear differently or not appear at all in each view set up for the project file. Pick cancel to leave the element properties dialog for the current view. Now from the settings menu, select phases. In the phasing dialog, study the first tab, project phases. This file has nine phases defined in it. Pick the phase filters tab. Phase filters sets up view conditions in which phases are displayed, displayed with overrides or not displayed. In this way, each element can be viewed in different ways in different views. Revit Building supplies a phase called temporary for elements that are created and demolished during the project. Pick the graphic overrides tab. Here the visual properties or phases are applied. Line rate in plan and section, color, line type and material for 3-D views. Pick cancel to exit the phasing dialog. In the project browser, scroll down and expand schedules slash quantities. This template includes examples of nearly all the available standard schedules. Scroll back up to expand families. And expand elevations in the project browser. If it's already expanded, double click east to open the view. Zoom in around the elevation symbols. Study the predefined levels and their heights in this template. Now scroll down in the project browser and click the plus sign to expand families. Then expand the structural columns family and the walls family and study the components available in those families. This concludes our examination of the construction template.
