The connections between walls and roofs can become very complex, as shown here. A number of commands can help you edit walls or roofs to clean up the intersections. These include: Attach, Join Geometry, and Join or Unjoin roof. If you did not attach walls to a roof when you created the roof, you can come back at a later point and do this with Attach, Top or Base, as shown here. Attach, Top or Base, can also be used with walls against sloping floors or site features. To attach walls to roofs, first you select the wall or walls you want to attach to the roof, then, on the Modify, Walls Tab, Modify Wall Panel, you'd click Attach, Top or Base. Then, after making sure the Attach Wall option is set to Top, you'd select the roof. When you do, the walls are trimmed or extended to the roof line. Where roofs overlap walls or other roofs, you can use Join Geometry to clean up the intersections. The elements remain separate, but the intersections are cleaned up. Here, the slanted roof was joined to the parapet wall in the front and to the flat roof. In this case, joining adds the lines that define the intersection edges. To join geometry, on the Modify Tab, Geometry Panel, you'd expand Join and click Join Geometry. And then, on the Options Bar, you'd select the Multiple Join option to select several elements to join to the first selection, and then you'd select the elements to join. To remove the Join you'd expand Join and click Unjoin Geometry and then select the elements to unjoin. When you want to join an extruded roof to another roof, or a wall face that is taller than the roof, you can use the Join or Unjoin Roof command, as shown here. To use Join-Unjoin roof, on the Modify Tab, Geometry Panel, you would click Join or Unjoin Roof, and then you'd select one of the roof edges. Then you'd select the other roof or the wall.
