In this lesson we will add Tags to Doors and Windows using the Tag All-Not Tagged option. We will also modify Tag Values by clicking the Tag and typing values. In addition, we'll use the Tag option to manually tag individual Walls in the model. From the Menu Browser select Open and open the file RAC TO 02-Tag Doors, Walls, Windows. Now let's tag Doors and Windows. With 01-Entry Level Floor Plan open click the Annotate tab then from the Tag Panel click Tag All, then in the Tag All-Not Tagged dialog select Door Tags and Window Tags by using the Ctrl key, then click OK. All the doors and windows are tagged automatically. Next, let's modify some Tagged Text. Zoom in to the right side of the shorter wing of the building, then select the Tag for the Door leading to the Stair. A value is not assigned to this door because it is in a Curtain Wall and was placed as a Panel. When the Panel was placed a Marked Value was not assigned as it is when you place a Door Family. Zoom in closer and select the Tag value and enter 130A, then press Escape. Next, we'll take a look at how to tag Walls individually. From the Tag Panel of the Annotate tab click Tag by Category, then zoom out and find the Cafeteria and select the right wall of the Cafeteria, then press Escape. Then click the Tag and zoom in and click the Tag Value and type A1 and press Enter. A Warning dialog displays because this Tag is associated with a Type Parameter. Changing a Type Parameter on an object can affect many objects in a model, so you must do this carefully. In this case click Yes. The Tag symbol and Text Size are determined by the Type Family. Press Escape and from the Tag Panel of the Annotate tab click Tag by Category again. Next, pan around and zoom out to find the Conference Room and click the right wall of the Conference Room. This time the Tag Value is displayed automatically because the Type Parameter was defined in the previous steps. Close the file as that concludes this lesson.
