In this lesson we'll add Furniture Components to the project. The process is similar for adding any other components to a project. We will also create a Schedule to track the components added to the project. From the Menu Browser select Open, then open the file RAC ODE 05-Add Furniture, then in the Floor Plan View, 01-Entry Level, zoom in to the left side of the shorter wing. Then click the Insert tab and from the Load from Library Panel click Load Family, then in the Load Family dialog browse to Training Files, Imperial Families, and open the file Table-Dining-Round with chairs. Then click the Home tab and from the Build Panel click the Component drop-down and select Place a Component. Then place three instances of the table and chairs as shown. Then click Modify and we will now Array the table and chairs. Select the three Components and on the Modify Panel click Array. Then on the Options Bar make sure Group and Associate is selected then change the number to 7 and select the midpoint of the top table. Then move to the right and click to specify the Array direction. The distance is not important. Now let's delete some extra furniture. Select the columns of the Tables 4 to 7 then on the Group Panel click Ungroup, then remove the selection, then select the bottom tables in Columns 4 to 6 and click Delete. And then select the entire Column 7 of tables and click Delete. Next we will change the Color Scheme. In the Project Browser under Floor Plans right-click 01-Entry Level and click Properties. In the Instance Properties dialog for Color Scheme Location select Foreground and click OK. A Color Scheme can be switched from background to foreground as shown, as required by the project. Next, we will create a Furniture Schedule. Click the View tab and from the Create Panel click the Schedules drop-down and select Schedule Quantities. In the new Schedule dialog for Category select Furniture and click OK. In the Schedule Properties dialog under Available Fields select Family and Type and click Add, then select Count and click Add, then select Cost and click Add. Then click the Sorting or Grouping tab and for Sort by select Family and Type, and select Grand Totals, and clear Itemize every instance. Then click the Formatting tab and under Fields select Cost and under Field Formatting select Calculate Totals and click OK. Then double-click each Heading Column divider to expand the columns to fit the entries. Next, we will add Cost Values to the Furniture families. In the Project Browser expand Families. Under Families expand Furniture, then Chair, and double-click the Chair. Then in the Type Properties dialog under Identity Data, for Cost enter 45 and click OK. Next, expand the Table Family and double-click the 36 inch diameter and for Cost enter 300 and click OK. Notice the Schedule updates with the Cost Values and close the file as that concludes this lesson.
