In this lesson we will load the new Window Family into an Art Gallery Project, then we will create a Section View that cuts through the red exterior wall of the Art Gallery. We will then open the new Section View and view the window and then we will replace the Window with a Casement with Trim and Details Window Type. Open the Family, or continue with the Family file, Casement with Trim and Details. Now let's open the Art Gallery Project. Click the Menu Browser and select Open and in the Open dialog browse to Training Files, Imperial, and select the file i art gallery and click Open. Then click the View tab and from the Windows Panel click the Switch Windows drop-down and select Casement with Trim and Details. Then in the Casement with Trim and Details Family click the Modify tab and from the Family Editor Panel click Load into Project. Then in the Load into Project dialog click inside the Art Gallery project checkbox and click OK. Then in the Art Gallery project close the Warning. Next we'll create a Section View that cuts through the right exterior wall of the Art Gallery. In the Project Browser of the Art Gallery project under Floor Plans double-click Level 1. Then zoom in closer to the right side of the Floor Plan and then from the View tab's Create Panel click Section. Make sure that the Type Selector shows Building Section and draw a Section Line through the right exterior wall at a window location. Then clear the selection and we will now open the new Section View and view the window. In the Project Browser under Views expand Sections, Building Section, and double-click Section 1, then zoom in to the window and select it. The current Window Type displays in the Type Selector Ð Fixed 36 inch by 48 inch. Next, we will replace the window with a Casement with Trim and Details Window Type. With the window still selected, in the Type Selector scroll up to the top and under Casement with Trim and Details, select 36 inch by 48 inch. Then zoom in even closer so that the window is filling the screen, and clear the selection and on the View Control Bar click Detail Level and select Fine. Then if Thin Lines are off from the Graphics Panel of the View tab, click Thin Lines. You can see the nested Detail Component. Save and Close all open projects as that concludes this lesson.
