In this lesson we'll define new Door Types for the Door Family. These new types will have various heights and widths. Click the Manage tab and on the Family Properties Panel click Types. In the Family Types dialog under Family Types click New. For Name type 32 inch by 80 inch and click OK. For Height enter 6 feet 8 inches and for Width enter 2 feet 8 inches, and click Apply. Then to define the second new Door Type click New. Then type 36 inch by 84 inch and click OK. For Height enter 7 feet and for Width enter 3 feet and click Apply. Then click New again, type 48 inch by 90 inch and click OK. For Height enter 7 feet 6 inches and for Width enter 4 feet and click Apply and then click OK. We now have three new Door types defined within this Door Family. Save the file and let's load this Door Family into a project. Click the Menu Browser and select New, Project, and in the New Project dialog click OK. Then from the Build Panel of the Home tab click Door, then on the Model Panel of the Place Door tab, click Load Family then navigate to where you saved the Training Door Family and open it. Now let's place new Door Types into the project. Click the Home tab and from the Build Panel click the Wall drop-down and select Wall. Using the default Wall Selection in the Type Selector, drawing from right to left, draw a horizontal wall 30 feet long. You draw from right to left so that the exterior of the wall is the bottom face. Click Modify and then from the View tab click 3D View. Then on the View Control Bar select Model Graphics Style, Shading with Edges, then from the Home tab click Door. Then with the Training Door 32 inch by 80 inch Type selected, add a door to the wall by clicking at the bottom edge of the closer, or exterior face as shown. Then in the Type Selector under Training Door select 36 inch by 84 inch, then add this door to the center of the wall as shown. Then from the Type Selector select Training Door-48 inch by 90 inch and add a third Door Type to the right side of the wall as shown. You now have three new flush exterior doors based on a new Door Family model. Close this file without saving it, and close the Training Door Family file as well as that concludes this lesson.
