Subtitles of the Movie

Time to have a little fun now and talk about Distortion Filters, so let's go ahead and do this by creating a new Composite and opening up the tunnel.mov movie from your Videos Folder which of course lives inside of your Work Files folder. Alright so we have this footage and Ill zoom out a little bit of someone driving through the tunnel. OK I'm also going to grab this guy here so I can set my Video to stop playing at the end of this footage here instead of continuing on. So whenever I press play it stops right there. What I want to do at this point is I want to add in my Workspace, let me go ahead and just go back to my Composite Controls there. I'm going to go to Tunnel, Operators and I'm going to go to the Distort Category and right away there is all kinds of really awesome stuff to play with. Let's start off with magnifying glass, alright so I have magnifying glass set and what I could do is choose the center point for this effect and this pretty the most important part of this. So I click on this little cross here and I'll put it wherever I want it and then I can increase my amount to have a really cool effect as if though I was looking for the Magnifying Glass and I can change the scale of the effects. It's aspect which gives us our curvature and I can change the direction so I can have the effect happen only horizontally, vertically or what I prefer is both to get a more realistic effect. It looks like your looking through glass. I'm going to click on Magnifying Glass now and delete it from my Workspace. So I'll go ahead and go back to tunnel, click onto the magnifying glass and choose delete. Let's go ahead now and add another Operator that lives in the Distort category and this one is another one I like to use, Ripple. What we can do is choose what kind of Ripple we want such as Pond Ripples and the Amplitude of those Ripples. This one really useful for when you want to do that Dream, Sequence that you see in all the comedies. So you know you walk into a wall four o'clock in the morning because you're hungry and all of sudden the refrigerator starts to Fade Away like this as you go to slumber land, not that its ever happened to me. I can also choose out from center and around center. Another very, very fun filter to work with in that category. So I'll delete that one as well. I'm going to go now to Operators again, Distort and this time I'm going to choose Pinch. Pinch once again relies on you choosing a center for the effect to take place. So I'll click and choose something for the Pinch which will be the tunnel opening and I'll choose my amount and we'll punched right in or pushed out, which is a really cool effect as well. So whenever you want to show something going down a drain or something shrinking this is a really cool effect, even useful when you have to Warp into Space. So you have the Starfield and vroom. So those are some of the examples of the really cool filters that you'll find in the Operators Distort Category. So feel free to experiment, their all fun, they all have different controls and a lot of them rely on you choosing of course a place where the effect to occur and then once you choose that effect you can just simply use the sliders that come with it, the change, how that filter works.
