New in Combustion 2008 we have some streamlined tweaks to the Schematic View, which you'll see over here. We'll talk about the Schematic View in depth later on, but as you can see, it's a graphical interface that allows us to see the connections of all of the operators and special effects that we apply to our video in one nice, neat package. New also in Combustion, let me just go back to this report, is the relocation of the Compare Tool. It now lives happily in the Toolbar. With this guy, we can compare two pieces of footage, video, artwork, images and that kind of thing and we'll talk about how to use this later on. It's a very, very cool tool, especially when you have a client sitting next to you and you want to show them two or more versions of what something that you're creating in Combustion could look like by the time it's done. We'll talk about that later as well. But the true star of the show, let me go ahead and move all these guys out of the way because the star needs its space, is the operator that lives in the Color Correction Section, the Color Warper. The Color Warper has quite a few controls available to you that you can use to change the color in your images and color correct them. And you see we have a histogram on this side. We have the ability to set a black and white point. We have our trackballs that we can use to warp and change how the shadows and the midtones and highlights look in our images. We also have the ability to work not just with the basic controls but also select different controls and work with the Color Cube. We also have the ability to work with the Vector Scope, which we'll talk about later on as well. And the Vector Scope is simply a 3D representation, or you can set it to 2D, of the pixel data in your image. So you can look at the Luma Values, the RGB Values and more. So, once again, these are some of the new features you'll find in this tutorial and we're going to cover them all and learn all kinds of great things that we can do and create in Combustion 2008.
