Now you can Import Page Setups from other drawings without having to have the other drawing open. Now what I've got here in my Model, I've got a Page Setup set up haven't I, remember? My Window one where I can pick a window anywhere in the Model Space. I've set up a DEFAULT one, which is there. I've set up one in the WIZARD using the Layout Wizard like that in previous exercises and I've got my A3 Landscape Tab here all set up with a nice A3 Title Block. What I'm going to do now is start from scratch and bring in a Page Setup from another drawing. Now the new drawing is called New Drawing001. Not very imaginative, but it does the job. I'm actually going to right-click on the A3 Landscape Tab here and I'm going to go New layout. Simple as that. Now I'm going to go to the Layout one and click on it and then when I right-click and go to Page Setup Manager here you'll see that Layout1 currently is using an 8.5 by 11 inches Imperial set up. So I'm going to change that first of all. So there's Layout1 highlighted and the first thing I'm going to do is close the Page Setup Manager and rename my Layout1. So it's a right-click on Layout1, Rename and it's going to be Page Setup-IMPORT. So let's put Page Setup and then a -and then IMPORT like that so I know which one it is. I then press Enter; that confirms that Layout Tab Name. I'm going to delete this Viewport. I don't need it, so I click there and Delete. So now I'm back with the basic 8.5 by 11 inches Imperial setup. If I just right-click again on the PAGE SETUP-IMPORT tab that I've just created and go to Page Setup Manager, if I select it like that and go to Modify I can actually set up the Default Layout Tab setting, so I go to Modify. As you can see it's a DWF6 ePlot pc3. That's fine. The paper size there is ANSI A 8.5 by 11 inches. So that's all set up for that particular setting. What I'm going to do now is hit Cancel and then I'm going to import that page setup that I want. So I go to Import here and now look, there's my NewDrawing001. Now I've deliberately gone to my Drawings folder, NewDrawing001 will also be in your Work Files for you when you're doing this particular Course. So I select the drawing and click on Open. It tells me which page setups I've got. So I've got an A3 Landscape Page Setup, an A4 Landscape Check Plot Page Setup and an A4 Portrait Check Plot in the Model Tab notice. Now I want it in the Layout Tab and I want an A3 Landscape and the reason I want an A3 Landscape is to set up my A3 Title Block on a New layout tab. So I select the A3 Landscape Page Setup, I OK it; notice it's all set there with the details when I OK it, it says a Layout page setup named A3 Landscape has already been defined. Would you like to redefine it? So the simple solution there is do I want to do that or not? Now in this case I'm going to say Yes because I know that the Page Setup is the same as my A3 Landscape Tab. That's deliberate. But you might not want to do that. So what we could do there is go back to that drawing and rename that Page Setup in the NewDrawing001.dwg file. So let's say No to that and let's close that for a moment and what I'm going to do is I'll go to Open now. If I open up my NewDrawing001 you'll see funnily enough it looks exactly the same as the drawing we've got, surprise, surprise there. But now A3 Landscape Tab is there. I'm going to right-click and go to Page Setup Manager and Rename that Page Setup there. Right-click, Rename, A3 Landscape and I'm going to call it 001 and press Enter. So it's got a different name now. So when I close that and also close the drawing, Save changes? Yes, thank you. So I'm now back in my original Importing Page Setups drawing at the top. There's Page Setup Import Tab. Right-click on the tab, Page Setup Manager, and Import. There's NewDrawing001. When I open it now you'll see I've got A3Landscape001. So let's OK that coming in and now it just brings it straight in. There it is, because it's got a different name, so that page setup there. So you've got to make sure that these Page Setups that you bring in from other drawings have a different Page Setup name, but it's there and I want to apply that now to PAGE SETUP-IMPORT here, which is the current Layout Tab, so I double-click there like that and it applies it. So when I close the Page Setup Manager that is now an A3 sheet and I can put an A3 Title Block on there if I want to. So that's just a case of now A3Landscape here, copy the Title Block, and put it into my PAGE SETUP-IMPORT Layout Tab that is now currently set to an A3 sheet size. How do I check that? I right-click and I go to Page Setup Manager and if I look at PAGE SETUP-IMPORT here, there's the setup there: 420 by 297 millimeters landscape using A3Landscape001 as the page setup. Easy. You've just got to remember which Page Setup to use.
