When you install AutoCAD Electrical 2010, it does install all of your default search paths and where AutoCAD Electrical actually finds information like catalog information and template information and so on. So let's add our Installation and Search Paths Drawing to our project. So it's a right click on the Project, Add Active Drawing, Apply Project Default Values, Yes, please. I'll just right click here now, see Drawing Templates, I do need to go to Properties there and change that to 04. It seems to have sequentially changed that one for some reason. I'll also change this one, right click, Properties, Drawing Properties. We'll change that one to 05. Now, you'll notice there Drawing Settings, I can change Components, Wire Numbers and so on. Let's just OK that a second and then what we need to do is we need to right click on our Project and go here to Properties like we did previously. Now, if you go to Project Settings here, you'll see that there are various library and icon menu paths. This is where AutoCAD Electrical goes to look for things that you use in your Electrical drawings. So if I click on the Plus Sign here, there's all my schematic library. So that's where it finds all of those blocks. So you can see I'm using the IEC Standard, IEC 2. I could actually change that if I wanted to by adding another path. There's the new path there, just there. If I click on Browse now, that'll take me to the library file there and I might want to install IEC 4. So I double click it, OK it, IEC 4, there it is there. I'll move it up to the top like so. I might want to add another one so I click on Add. There's the space, click on Browse. If I go to Libraries again, IEC 4, I'll put the 1 -in as well and I'll move that up as well so it's underneath the IEC 4. So now not only will it look in IEC 2, but it will also look in IEC 4 for my schematic component library, things like blocks, icons. Any icons that are used, there is the file that it uses. Panel Footprint Libraries; that's where they're stored in that particular folder. Again, I can still Add, Browse, Remove, Move Up and Move Down; also any icon for Panel Icons. There it is there. So there's the Panel Menu and the IEC Menu. What I'm going to do there is go to IEC 4 and remove that one, IEC 4, 1 -remove that one. I'll OK that now or shall I? Let's have a look at what's going on here in the Project Settings. Again, look. Electrical Code Standard; that can be changed as well. I'm just using the default setting. So I'll OK that and my project is now set for that particular set of search paths when I first install AutoCAD Electrical 2010.
