In Exercise 3 we looked at Exporting a Palette Group, so what we're going to do now is we're going to Import that group into our Tool Palettes. So there's our Tool Palette there. If I right-click here and go to DRAFTING, there's our Group there. So we've got our DRAFTING Group already, so what happens now if I bring in another DRAFTING Group? What happens? Do I get another incidence of a DRAFTING Group like I did with the Tool Palette? Well, let's see. Let's go back to All Palettes by right-clicking and selecting All Palettes there. It takes a few seconds to come up, as I said it's going through the list of all the Palettes, and also the Groups there. So I right-click on the Title Bar, I go to Customize Palettes again and this time I go to the Group List, so I'm going to go all the way up here, select DRAFTING, right-click and Import and there is my DRAFTING.xpg file, that one there. So if I click on Open now you'll notice I've got a new DRAFTING Group there, but if I scroll up I've still got a DRAFTING Group there. Let's just close that a moment and then if I right-click here you'll see now I've got DRAFTING there and I've got DRAFTING there, exactly the same as on the list in the Customize Palettes dialog box. So I need to get rid of one of those. They are exactly the same. So what I do, I go back to Customize Palettes and what I'm going to do is I'm actually going to get rid of this one here, the one that I imported. So it's a right-click and Delete. That one's gone. I've still got DRAFTING here at the top of the list. I close the Customize box and if I right-click now at the bottom you'll see now that I've got DRAFTING again. When I click on DRAFTING it opens up just the Blocks Tool Palette tab. And as you can see there, there's Blocks there, Tool Palettes and the DRAFTING Group. So as you can see there, you can also export and import Tool Palette Groups as well as individual Tool Palettes. Now what I must stress is you must do these Exercises. Get used to performing these right-clicks and clicks so that you know what you're doing when you're creating Tool Palettes, Tool Palette Groups, putting Blocks onto Tool Palettes, for example. Get used to it. Tool Palettes are extremely useful in your AutoCAD environment. They will make you a lot more productive, a lot more efficient in the way that you work with AutoCAD.
