In this drawing I've deliberately switched the layers back on in the new viewport here so you can now see the dimensions and if you look more closely between the columns there, you've got the construction line as well. I'm going to zoom in on that viewport so make sure that there are no viewports active. Just double click in the gray area to make sure and then hit Escape to deselect as well. So I'm going to roll up on the wheel mouse with my crosshair just there and zoom in and there; you can see my dimensions there. I want to lose those dimensions. I want to lose that layer in that particular viewport. So I'm going to roll back on the wheel and what I'm going to do is double click inside the viewport and make it active. Then I'm going to go to my Home Tab. Now, that's Home Tab in the 2D Drafting and Annotation Workspace. You can also do this in the 3D Workspaces. And all you need to do is go to the Layers Property Manager in the Layers Panel. So if we go to the Layer Properties Manager, we've got a live viewport; it's active. So if I look at my Layers again here, we need to lose the Dimensions. Now, notice Freeze in New Viewport is still active but if I scroll along this list, along the bottom here, you'll notice there's another group of columns there as well. You can see there you've got Dimensions there. Can you see? I need to freeze those in the existing viewport. Now, let me just drag this along here a bit so that's a bit clearer. So we've got here Viewport Freeze and New Viewport Freeze. Now, if I go to Dimensions here and switch that off like that, that means that they will show in the viewports itself so there they are. Now, if I go back again to the Layer Properties Manager and then go Dimensions and just scroll along and click on that icon there, Viewport Freeze and close the Layer Properties Manager, they've disappeared. OK? So you can either switch them on or off in a particular viewport. Notice the Dimensions in the GA Plan are still there. If I double click outside that viewport, you'll notice the Dimensions are still here in this viewport. So if I pan upwards a little bit now and double click in this viewport and make it active, I want to lose the Dimensions again and possibly even the Construction Lines as well. I should have done that in that viewport too really. In here though they're just messy. They're flat dimensions. Look, you can see if I hover over that dimension there, it highlights it in that viewport but also in the GA Plan. Can you see that highlighting? So if I hover over it here, it won't highlight because that viewport isn't active but if I hover over it there, you can see it highlight in this viewport here. So we need to go back to our Layer Properties Manager again and in this viewport we need to do the same. So we select Dims, slide across with the Slider Bar, click on the VP Freeze there and close the Layer Properties Manager and they've gone. It looks much neater. Really though I ought to do Construction Lines in there as well. So Construction Lines is there, same process, along the Slider, we'll VP Freeze that one too and close the Layer Properties Manager. Let's double click on this viewport here and do the same, make sure that our Construction Lines are frozen. There's Construction Lines there, use the Slider, they're already frozen in that viewport so we're OK. Close the Layer Properties Manager, make sure you double click away from the viewports to deactivate them and then double click on the wheel to Zoom Extents. You've got a much, much tidier drawing now because you've utilized your Layer Control to freeze layers in specific viewports.
