Now Realtime Zoom works in a slightly different way to all the other Zoom Commands. It is still available here on my Sticky Navigate Panel. So as you can see I've got Realtime Zoom there, and also Realtime Pan is available actually on the Navigate Panel itself up at the top there. They both form a partnership. So, let's look at Realtime Zoom first. So if I click on Realtime here and come into the drawing now, I've got this weird and wonderful little magnifying glass with a plus and a minus next to it. Now, what this allows me to do is hold down the left-hand mouse button and move upwards to zoom in. But if I do that I start to lose my drawing because of the location there, because I've done a Zoom All and zoomed to my Modelspace limits, so I start to lose the drawing. So no matter which way I go there if I go up I start to lose the information. What I can do there is when I'm in Realtime Zoom I can right-click and I can go to Pan, I can drag this upwards, right-click, go to Zoom, and as I come up now it's getting bigger and bigger, and then I right-click again, Pan, bring it downwards, right-click again, Zoom, and I can just toggle between the two until I'm happy with where I've zoomed in to on my particular drawing. So, what I can also do, which is very nice, is I can right-click and instead of using Pan or Zoom here I actually go to 3D Orbit, like so. This takes me back to that Orbit Command on the Navigate Panel. So now I can hold down the left-hand mouse button and again, look, I'm using that Constrained Orbit to work within the 3D environment, even though I know my drawing is only 2D, like so. And again, I could just right-click, and I can exit. Now. When we looked at the Navigate Panel we needed to go back to our Top View, so I go to the View tab here and as you can see there's Top there. Notice the Panel has expanded because I've got my Navigate Sticky Panel out here. So, I select Top and it drops me back into my Top View, like so. So as you can see Realtime Zoom, very functional when you select it from the Menu, but you've also got Realtime Zoom on your wheel on your mouse. We looked at this when we looked at the Wheel Mouse Commands previously. I can now just roll upwards and zoom in; that is also Realtime Zoom. Roll backwards on my wheel, and I've got Realtime Zoom coming backwards, and decreasing the magnification. So, as you can see, Realtime Zoom, functional and effective, but you'll notice much more effective if you use your mouse as your main navigation tool.
