Now that we've set our set up variable to 1 which means we can utilize the Startup dialog box, what we're going to do now is we're going to use the Startup dialog box and open up a new DWG file, from our DWT that we've created so that we've got all our Layer Settings in place. We've got all our blocks in place; we've got all our TITLEBLOCK in place. So it's very easy, with no drawings open in AutoCAD we go to new like we did before, we select this option here, use a Template on the Startup dialog box and if I scroll up our list again there is my A3 Metric Template DWT. As soon as I select that and click on OK it opens me up a brand new drawing with all those settings. So let's have a look at this, I'm just going to quickly do a Zoom Extents there so that we can see everything and you'll notice there, there's my TITLEBLOCK, ready to go. Notice its set to project text, my Viewports are all in place, if I click on that one, notice down here its at 1 to 50 and also if I click on the other two their at 1 to 30. So notice that down on the Status Bar here, you'll see look there 1 to 30. OK. So everything is set there, if I look at my Layer pull-down list here, all my layers are in place so I can utilize layers that have been brought in from an existing DWG. Now notice the default name is drawing 6 dot DWG, it needs to be saved as a file with a particular file name. There's nothing in the Model space right now, no design has been done. So what I need to do there is obviously start designing and then assigning views in my Viewports here in the Model space. So I could double click in there, set a view in there, in there or in there. Again double click outside the Viewports to deactivate them. So I now have a drawing ready to go. So what I need to do here is I need to go File, and again Save As and what I need to do is I need save this as a drawing with a recognizable name. So what I'm going to do here is I'm going to save it as, 10-05 because that's the exercise that we're in and I'm going to put in there something simple like using the Startup dialog box. Again that is purely a name for my DWG but its in a recognized drawing folder and its using a recognized convention. You'll notice my other 10-01, 10-02 drawings in there. So as soon as I click on Save Now that drawing is saved, you'll notice up here that its own particular DWG file name. I can now go in and start editing this. So the first thing I'm going to do here is assign a project name, so my project name there will be New Project and apply that and OK it, the next thing I'll do there is hit this Quick Save icon to save that change. So that change has now been saved to that specific DWG drawing that's been created from our already created DWT file.
