We're now going to look at Viewports Scaling and Annotation Scaling. When we look at our two Viewports in the A3 Metric Details tab we have a Shaft Detail View Port at a scale of 2 to 1 and Bracket Detail Viewport of a scale of 1 to 1. Now once these objects are scaling appropriately, I've Shafted the Bracket to the Viewport Scales. The Annotation is not scaling correctly, because we have Annotation that is twice the size of the 1 to 1 Viewport in the 2 to 1 View Port, because their purely scaling to the Viewport Scales that we've given them. Now what we need to do here is we need to make our Dimensioning Annotative and what this means is it will display in the appropriate Viewport at the right size. So we need to add a Viewport Scale to an appropriate Viewport Object. So what we need to do is we need to go to our Model tab and find our Radius 24 and our Diameter 48. Now I have a Radius 24 here, which is on M-DIMS Details, I have a Diameter 48 there that is on M-DIMS and I have a Diameter 48 there on M-DIMS Details. So the Layer M-DIMS Details is the one that we need. What we're going to do, we're going to go to our Layer Properties Manager like so and what we'll do is we'll freeze the Detail that we don't need. So M-DIMS Details is the layer we require, but we're going to Freeze Off the other two Dimension Layers, just momentarily. So we're going to Freeze this layer here by clicking on the Sun Symbol and this layer here by clicking on the Sun Symbol, notice they turn into Snowflakes and when I Close the Layer Properties Manager I now can only see my Radius 24 and my Diameter 48. What we need to do now is we need to make these two Dimensions Annotative so that they display appropriately in the 2 to 1 View Port. It's very simple, you select the Dimensions like so and then right click and go to the Properties on the Shortcut Menu and look at the Properties of your two Dimensions. Notice here on the miscellaneous Annotative No, so if I click on the word No and then click on the Down Arrow here and say that they are Annotative, the Annotative Scale that they are showing up at, at the moment is 1 to 1. That's the default scale, the full size scale in the Model tab. If I click on the 1 to 1, alittle box here appears, I click on the box and what I can do now is I can add an Annotation Object Scale, If I click on Add and find the 2 to 1 here and OK it, that is now an Annotation Object Scale that is applied to those two Dimensions. So if I now click on OK, what'll happen is every time those Dimensions appear in a 2 to 1 Viewport they will appear the appropriate size. I now Close the Properties Palette, hit Escape to Deselect my Dimensions and what I will do is I will save my drawing now just to be on the safe side. So my drawing is now saved. I'll now go to the A3 metric Details tab and you'll notice now the Dimensions themselves are half the size of what they were. If I now use my Layer pull-down menu here, notice M-DIMS Details is the current Layer there, but I can use my Layer Properties Manager to Thaw Out the other Dimension Layers like so. When I Close the Layer Properties Manager all my Dimensions now display the appropriate scales. So what's happened there now is in the Shaft Detail, 2 to 1 Viewport the Annotative Scale of 2 to 1 has kicked in on those Dimensions. In the Bracket Detail Viewport the Annotative Scale of 1 to 1 has kicked in for those Dimensions, but they now all look the same size and look consistent in the drawing.
