Still using the Array Command, we're not going to look at Rectangular Arrays. Now, what we have here is a typical office environment. Now, looking at this we have the standard cubicles with the partitions, the blue partitions dividing up the office space. Now, if we look here, we need to count out what we're going to do and where we're going to place the furniture. Now, we're going to zoom in first of all on these two cubicles here where the furniture is. Now, ideally what we want is we want a mirrored set of furniture. So we want these two cubicles here to have mirror images here and here so let's first of all use the Mirror Command. So we'll select the objects that we need like so. So we'll select all the objects that we want to mirror. Then we go to the Mirror Command here and we're going to mirror from this midpoint snap at the top here. I've got Polar Tracking on so I can just go down the Polar Tracking line now and drag that vertically downwards. You can see the objects mirroring like so. Anywhere on that Polar Tracking line I can do my second click, my second end-of-mirror line. And it prompts me to erase the source objects. In this case no, I don't want to so I just press Enter to accept the N for No. So there's my mirrored furniture filling up my four cubicles like so. Now what I want to do, I want that in these four cubicles here, these four cubicles here and these four cubicles here. So I'm going to use the Rectangular Array Command rather than keep copying and mirroring where errors could occur. So what we need to look at now is we need to look at how we're going to do this. Let's go to the Rectangular Array Command first of all. So we pin out the Modify Panel again because the Array Command is here and we click on the Array Command like so. Remember; top to bottom, left to right. Rectangular Array; now, how many rows and columns have we got here? Let's have a look. We have one, two, three, four columns or so you might think. No. We could all of that unit there as a column. So in essence we have one, we have two columns. Let's look at the number of rows we have. One, two, three, and four. No, we have one row, two rows. Now, what we're going to do here is we're actually going to use the Array Command now to generate two rows like so and then I'm going to tab across the columns there, two columns. And if I just pan across now, I need to select the objects that I'm going to erase so I need to select my original objects so I can click on the Select Objects Button, just like the Polar Array as well. I'm going to zoom in a little bit so I can see what I'm doing. So I make sure that I select all of the furniture that needs to be arrayed. Again, notice crossing selections are very useful in this case. I then press Enter to confirm those objects. I have 16 in total. Now, Row Offset and Column Offset. How do I place those? Well, I can use this button here so I'm going to do a Row of Set first but let's think about this first. Let's just move this out of the way slightly and zoom out. Well, we can't do that now because we've selected the objects. So I need to press Enter to confirm those objects like so. Make sure you select the objects. Notice you can go in and revisit. You can reselect if you wish. But once you're back in the dialog box, you can't zoom and pan. So I zoom and pan out now so that I can see and then I press Enter and then I get the dialog box back and I can see what I'm doing. So we need Row Offset and Column Offset. Now, bear in mind you have a corridor so that has to be included in the row of set. So your row is going to go from here down to here, not from here to here. That would put furniture in the corridor. So we specify our Row Offset first. Let's do that. I'm going to use this button here, Row of Set. It takes me into the dialog box and now I can easily zoom in and pick line turn a corner. So I want to go from this internal corner here. So I left click there on the end point on the partition. Now, the second point has to be the same but in this unit down here. So I go here and pick the same point. So there's my minus 6705.6 value. I now need to the same with the Column Offset. So I click here. Now, the Column Offset, again, if I zoom out, is going to need to go from this point here again but then I zoom out and it needs to go to across to here. So I zoom in again and I want that point there. Notice they're the same point but in different places. That allows you to place your objects exactly. So notice it's negative because we're moving downwards. Column Offset is positive because we're moving to the right. Let's have a look at our Preview there. That looks promising, doesn't it? We have a top left corner and then one, two and three. So let's preview that. Click on Preview, zoom out using the wheel and lo and behold are four units with four cubicles in each unit are now filled with furniture. So we are now happy with that and we right click to accept the array. Our furniture has now been placed and a rectangular fashion whilst utilizing the Mirror Command and the Array Command.
